Biography
“Destined to be a ‘greater dragon’…to be abandoned in this cold, unforgiving place, uninhabited by any dragons, to herd and rule the pathless creatures that might come wandering…. This is the fate of our son, Frysta, who was born of the ice.”

Frysta Bardagadreki | Konungur of the Klakifjall Clan
| Klakifjall Clan | The Kastala | Bardagadreki Family | THEME: Snowpeak - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Winter either bites with its teeth or lashes with its tail. Frysta is the Konungur of the Klakifjall Clan, a reclusive pack of dragons located in the cold desert of the Kaldur Jörð. Although not the most imposing or even largest dragon in the clan, he demands the most respect—and (for the most part) he receives it. A powerful ice-element Guardian, Frysta is not one to be reckoned with. Despite this, he struggles to live up to the standards of the dragons that birthed him and it often puts him in an inhospitable mood. (This, however, ensures that the dragons who enter his flock will be beneficial to it.) Only one of the dragons—his mate, Iseldur—is aware of his lineage. There is not a single mortal dragon beside her that knows (although some may hold fast to accurate suspicions) and the truth will likely follow him to his grave. This is not because he wishes to be humble. No, Frysta is keen on ensuring that both his clan and the others' flocks are aware of his leadership prowess. He hides his lineage because, as aforementioned, he does not always believe that he is suited to living up to his parents' legacies—minor deities though they may be. Despite, or perhaps because of, his shadowed past, many of Frysta’s clanmates look upon him as some great being—although he feels that this is so far from the truth that it is laughable. He has trust in these dragons and high hopes that they will grow to become a formidable flock, able to conquer any foe that comes their way—whether they be rival dragons or Beastclans acolytes. Frysta has a realistic outlook on life that many dragons mistake for cynicism. He doesn't hide his opinions or sugarcoat his words, and will not hesitate to tell a dragon if there's something they need to change. While he may hold much love for his clan, he does not outwardly show it: although it is easy to tell that he is proud of his flock. After moving from Northern Tundrheim in the Southern Icefields to the Kaldur Jörð of Dragonhome, the flock's member count halved, leaving them weaker and more unprepared for attack. After a betrayal within the flock's own ranks, Frysta is incredibly meticulous when permitting dragons to join the clan. Everyone in the clan—from soldiers to nursemaids to astronomers to fishers—has something to contribute. It is not unusual to see them working vigorously, becoming adept in their chosen areas of expertise. No matter how formidable the Klakifjall Clan becomes, there are always dragons out there that pose threats—and this is where alliances come in. Diplomats will travel far and wide to establish strong connections with other clans to ensure safety for their own. Frysta himself has spoken with other flock leaders on multiple occasions, and although he has not formed close bonds with them per se, they have a mutual respect and will aid one another in times of need. Frysta will do anything in his power to protect the flock if need be, although they don't get much competition from other dragons. The ice mountains and frigid temperatures provide excellent natural protection, and anyone who has caught wind of the fluid way the dragons work together to defend their homeland would be foolish to attempt an assault. Several assassination attempts have been made on Frysta's life, although every attacker has found himself dead, maimed, or a permanent resident of the Jörð's deep caverns. Even so, at least two bodyguards accompany Frysta whenever he steps foot out of the mountain in which they have created their home. These bodyguards are not always visible, but they are there—and the Klakifjall Clan has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to threats to Kóngur Frysta's life. "He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?" - Psalm 147:17 |
Relationships
Frysta's Cragward Custodian is completely loyal and, though people rarely see it, it is almost always around, lurking somewhere in the Guardian's shadow. With a manacle that can be used to cuff or hit enemies and curved, stone-hard horns, not to mention its impenetrable ice-like hide, the Custodian is not a force to be reckoned with. It is extremely protective of Frysta, getting agitated if things become tense around the Konungur. The only sounds to be heard from it are the clinking of its chains and the tapping of its hard feet on the ice. |
