Samantha

The oldest of the three main clan defenders, Samantha has come on in leaps and bounds since first discovering the lair. In the beginning, her personality was small, dominated by her co-founder Tyranus. Their children did not hang about for long as their parents' disputes often caused rifts not just in their relationship, but also in the foundations of the lair.

However in those early days, Samantha could always count on Ogrenix and Twilip to find a way to distract her. They would spend days at a time away from the running of the lair, training and travelling the world. So it couldn't have been too much of a surprise that when Samantha eventually returned, only her son Judas had remained taking care of his half siblings.

On her return, Samantha found consolation in Miko - the small Fae she had adopted from an Earth clan. It was a short lived affair and neither of their children stayed for long, going to serve under other Elemental Deities. However, she remains close to the small Fae even today as he relishes in her battle tales.

A while after, whilst out scouting with Ogrenix and Twilip, Samantha encountered Gerald - a wisened Ridgeback who was using his keen battle strategy to form a team. He was impressed by Samantha's agility and intelligence, proposing that she join his two other recruits. Ogrenix and Twilip encouraged her on, knowing that Samantha needed something to guide her for the clan to remain healthy.

After accepting the offer, Gerald moved into the lair, bringing along his old sparing partner Orion and his two recruits Clover and Alexandra. The three girls hit it off immediately, and their battles became somewhat of a gossip subject among neighbouring clans.

After a couple of one on one lessons with Orion, Samantha felt herself falling for the intellect of her teacher. He had so much to say and so much to teach that they found themselves more often than not hunkering down among the growing collection of books within the lair. However, one night after a long training session, the pair dove into a bottle of wine resulting in the eggs of their daughters the following morning.

Embarrassed by his lapse in judgement, Orion arranged for them to be transferred to another clan. Agreeing to this, Samantha had one condition - they should be named after the heroins of the first book Orion had given her.

For a long while, Samantha concentrated solely on her training and battles. The clan began to grow, gaining new members daily. Twilip left to follow the Shadowbringer, and Ogrenix and Miko discovered feelings towards each other that neither had really addressed.

However, one day following an intense battle with Clover and Alexandra, they returned to the lair to find that the library keeper's daughter - Papillion - had mothered two eggs from the recent addition to the lair - Pearl.

The two Spiral babies were gorgeous, but one in particular caught Samantha's attention. The blue male seemed to have a particular spark about him, and became overly attached to Samantha quite quickly. His intelligence was second only to Samantha, but his wit was years beyond what he should've been capable of.

As he grew, Samantha and Macsmit went from friends to more than friends and now they are a mated pair. After their own individual battles, they enjoy nothing better than snuggling down together with a good book and watching the stars.
