Sunlight bore down upon the dry earth with little mercy. Skeletons belonging to unidentifiable creatures littered the sandy wasteland of the Abiding Boneyard, along with a splattering of rotten trees; below one of which rested the still form of a Mirror who looked as though she'd soon be joining the piles of bones around her.

Crim flinched after a vain attempt to stand up. Her wings felt like they'd gained a few hundred tonnes, and with some alarm she realised that her limbs were equally uncooperative. She tried lifting her head, but even that didn't get very far; a few inches was all the progress she achieved before her face splashed back into the puddle that had formed steadily over the previous few minutes. The dragon could tell what it was by its scent alone, and if her mind wasn't so fuzzy she would've been far more concerned by the fact that she was resting in a pool of blood. Well, given the immense pain radiating from the rest of her body, it was safe to say that it was probably hers.
