Solassum


Solassum has spent most of his life around children. He had never intended to; it just turned out that way. He wasn't particularly the best with them, considering he often forgot that bringing a baby to where you can encounter the Beastclans is never a good idea. They all came back with every hair in place, but that never mattered to all the other parents. He was considered irresponsible, despite having raised two children on his own. As bad as he was with kids, at least children stuck around.

Solassum was no good at romance. He supposed it was his easy going additude. He had been told he didn't seem like he loved his partners or felt distant many times before. He didn't know how to alleviate that for them. The few times things had gotten "serious" between him and another, he ended up with a hatchling and no partner. He didn't know if they were his, but there was no way he was leaving the thing to fend for itself. That's happened twice now, and Solassum has given up on romance. He has no need for it. His life is filling enough with his two grown kids and younger brother (and his two kids and husband) always hanging around.

Pumpkin Younger Brother

Despite having a large age gap, Solassum and Pumpkin were quite close as children. Solassum often took Pumpkin on wildly dangerous escapades that Pumpkin thought were amazing fun, the fool. To this day, the two remain quite close and still go on adventures, though they aren't as dangerous for them anymore.

Elkan Son

Solassum had been surprised when his first love left him on a dark night with just an egg. He hadn't really known what to do. He honestly couldn't get past the thought of someone just leaving their child behind like this. Like who does that? Well, clearly he hadn't known that dragon at all. She had seemed kind and gentle. Despite this, Elkan grew up just fine. With the aid of others, the young dragon grew up to be a quiet, kind sort. He liked to work with his hands and eventually became a metalworker. He made armor and weapons for the clan. Solassum is quite proud of his son.

Ginger Daughter

Ginger, surprisingly, was the only child of his that wasn't abandoned directly to him. Solassum only found out about her from Salandra, who Ginger had been left with. Because the fae knew Ginger was his, she informed him, and Solassum was able to take her in. He was glad that he was able to find out about his daughter, considering he never wanted to leave a single one uncared for.

Estella Daughter

When Solassum had been left behind with Estella, he didn't know he why he was surprised. It happened before, might as well happen again. Estella was a bright and happy girl who had no interest in who her mom was. She had Solassum and Uncle Pumpkin and Nimo. That was plenty of parents for her to worry about. She spends most of her time bugging Solassum and spending time with him. She loves her father very deeply, and sometimes Solassum feels like she's trying to make up for all the other ladies who left them behind.
