She's expedited most of her leadership tasks to others, since she doesn't really allow anyone into the coven who she doesn't deem competent enough at what they do. She still keeps a trained eye on everything though. Especially on Lyneth, of whom she is fiercely protective.

My coven has had encounters with the Shade, or rather, it's remnants. We are not entirely sure if the 'Shade magic' we have encountered means the Shade is still present or that its magic left a corrupted power behind. Either way we are intrigued.

When we were still in the Hewn city we uncovered information that led us to the discovery of a cluster of ruins in the Tangled Wood. To this day we are still discovering new parts of the ruins underground. It is why we settled where we did, which, I will not be disclosing. Invitation only, I hope you understand.

Very early on we found evidence of strange magic. At first we thought it must have just been very old magic, given the age of the structures. However, there is no record of magic like this outside of locations known to have been plagued by the Shade in the past. Ilya is currently attempting to translate some of the texts we recovered from the ruins.

I have recruited a great number of witches during the course of our stay in the Tangled Wood to research magic, all forms of it. Nearly all of them have noticed some form of corruption. Things never seem quite right in the area. I am glad we did not settle too close to the ruins, gods know what it would do to us. Please do not mention this to Sergei or Caelistis if you decide to speak with them, they have very different ideas of acceptable risks. Scientists, you see.

Sergei has done quite enough to endanger himself already. He seems to have merged together with a- small- sample of the 'Shade magic' we had recovered from one of the ruins. There seems to be no lasting damage, just an odd humming noise he carries with him. We tried to record the sound but to no avail.

The Shade is by no means the focus of our studies, but it does appear every now and again. If you are so inclined I could send other members your way to answer any questions you might have. I have more pressing matters to attend to.

As she stands up she vanishes into thin air, leaving behind a perfumed calling card with instructions on how to get a message to the coven. Apparently sending a message to them goes via animated bird skeleton.
