Biography

Heirak
chemist | apothecary | Charged guardian

Although apprenticed to Evhion, the clan alchemist - sharing a lab, research, and occasional jobs - Heirak concerns themselves with more modern chemistry process and practise. Their occupation delivers two main services to the clan: treating compounds for or produced by other clan members (such as helping their friend Kyro in the production of coil yarn), and creating vaccines and medicine.

Reserved yet amiable, though starved for friendship; Heirak wastes a lot of energy feeding themself the common reservations or prejudice held against those born in the Scarred Wasteland. They also inflict themself with self-doubt in their identity as a Plague dragon that's devoted to healing, instead of taking pride in their dedication to overcoming vicious infirmity and suffering, and an instinctual, rugged adaptability.

--- CHARGE & LETHTETON ---

Heirak spent a few hurried months exploring the Leviathan Trench trying to satisfy that itchy reflex that provokes a Guardian on their Search, making contact with many lairs and discovering a few of the ancient, hidden Letheton ruins.
The time spent from their native clan was comforted by one particular ruin's putrefied vegetation, where familiar organisms were transformed by septic membranes pumping a slow pulse through the room, stirring a familiar miasma to action. Lured to the most exciting mass of composting waste, Heirak uncovered a dilapidated, dry green egg.

The sad state of the unhatched egg gave little indication to its history - it may have been a water egg transformed by the pestilent ruin, as a Plague egg would instead appear robust - unless it had been laid and abandoned long ago, and its state now caused by abandonment. Heirak instinctively Charged themself to the unhatched egg.

Heirak squatted for countless months in a nearby library ruin, nursing the egg and observing how easily it would fall back to frailty when coming in contact with the mildest bacteria. They went through no end of diseases together, occasionally visited by an energetic coatl, Evhion, researching ancient alchemical texts and offering aid.

The longer Heirak dealt with the diseases found through the Sea, the stronger their relationship became with the Letheton clan and Evhion, exchanging knowledge, assistance and friendship. The increase in socialization spurred severe self-doubt and criticism; a dragon once moved only by instinct was now picking apart their confidence in a flood of anxiety, helped little by the attention from Onhes being misread as distrust or disdain given their position and interactions through general clan security.
