Vatrel


Long ago, a young wandering Imperial came across a gold furred, mulberry winged Tundra named Davian, and his small clan. The Imperial, Vatrel, was drawn into their fold, and it was there, in Davian's clan, that Vatrel grew into a strong warrior, aided by allies of the clan. He was content here, among these dragons. He was soon joined in the clan by a Ridgeback, Emuku, as pure white as the snow from their shared homeland and only slightly younger then he himself. The two struck up a firm kinship.

From Davian, Vatrel learned that the Tundra's father, Nexus, had started the clan, and Davian himself was the dragon's youngest son. But Nexus, and all his children who had wandered far, save Davian himself, had gone on to directly serve their flights god. Even Davian's own children had gone to be exalted. Davian was the last, and he was growing weary himself. He longed to join them, and eventually, he did.

Without Davian to hold the clan together, they all filtered away, one by one, til only Vatrel and Emuku were left. Two dragons of ice, left alone where lightning reigned supreme. Emuku, a dragon made of honor and duty, swore he'd follow Vatrel where ever he went, so strong was their friendship.

Soon, other dragons began filtering into the lair Vatrel and Emuku stayed to maintain. Soon, it became apparent that a new clan was forming here, from the remains of the one that left Vatrel behind. He became a leader, then, to new recruits who came and went when their brief training under Vatrel was done.

Tentatively, Vatrel and Emuku began having talks to decide where to take their fledgling clan, for a new start all of their own, to get away from the shadows of their last one.
