Biography
Gale's Thoughts: Ignacia
I never thought my clan would hold much appeal for ridgebacks; when we were small and relatively undeveloped, there was barely enough room for Keiro, let alone any other of the larger species.
But Ignacia came in as an adolescent, formed a nook for herself, and stayed. She's loyal to a fault when she finds dragons she cares about. I don't know how it took me so long to figure out that she was so hellbent on staying because she never wants to be the one that leaves other dragons behind.
I think we're the only family she has; I knew her father (who she speaks of fondly), and was sad to hear of his passing, but Ignacia has never once mentioned anything about her mother or siblings. Kane says it's because they're the ones that threw her out, but I think it's equally likely that she thought she would be exalted and her family disapproved of her not wanting to serve, so there was a fight and she left.
She and Zev get along well; he's also not the biggest fan of giving up one's entire life for a God with millions of subjects thrown at them every year for the "greater good." I have nothing against it myself, but I suppose that's one of the benefits of having grown up alone with no bad memories involved with the practice.
I'd ask her to be part of the clan's protectors if I thought she'd take on the job. She, Keiro, and Zadar are good friends, and she's learned a lot about battle tactics from them, even though she rarely puts those skills to use. But she's content to be a diplomat (her grievances with the other ambassadors are always amusing to hear), and she's happy with the rest of her life, so I leave the matter be.
She's a good friend, and that's enough for me.
