Anwyn is the sole practitioner in all of Dragonhome of The Dark Arts, though the legitimacy of The Dark Arts remains unproven.

He dedicates everything in his life to the study of all magic and Dark Arts, poring over tomes he hand-wrote over his long life, mixing potions, experimenting with magical artifacts, and attempting to pull apart the natural magic buried in the soil and wood and foliage of the Gladekeeper's domain.

When Aurulent was young and injured, he took her in and made her pay her stay with apprenticework. She flourished under his tutelage and became his best and brightest student. Over time, she convinced him to leave his hollowed out tree and travel with her, deeper into the jungle, where the trees grew taller and the ground darker. He remains the oldest and most trusted member of the clan, despite his curmudgeonly attitude and obsession with research.

As Aurulent has grown older, he has picked up a new assistant, Pickwick.
