HarlequinKnight

HarlequinKnight was born into a poor dragon family that lived within the Stardust Clan. His birthname was Quink and he acquired his new name later in life. Many of his hatchling days were spent scavenging for food and treasure to help support himself along with his siblings. One day when he was scurrying about, a large white and blue Imperial dragon stopped Quink in his tracks. He motioned with his claw to follow him. Quink obeyed, scared that he would be punished for scavenging.

The Knight lowered his head to Quink's, "My name is KohakuRiver, call me Haku. I'm head knight of our clan." He sniffed at Quink and continued, "I notice you everyday struggling to find food and money for your family. No hatchling should be in such a state. I have an opportunity for you, but it will require a great sacrifice which in the end could cost your life, but in return you will get paid greatly." Quink was shaking at that point, scared for his life, "Don't be frightened I would never hurt somone of our clan. I've been a knight for almost my whole life if you include me being a squire. I never had time to have my own family and I'm growing old. I need an apprentice to practice my values of protecting our clan and being a humble and noble knight. You are technically stealing, but you are doing it to support your family so I will overlook that, but I want to give you a chance to apprentice under me and continue protecting our clan."

Quink simply nodded and pointed to himself, "Family need money and food."

Haku scoffed, "I guess I'll have to teach you how to talk as well. If you become an apprentice the royal family will pay you. Since you will live with me your money can go to your family if you desire." Quink hopped around in glee and shook Haku's claw. Immediately he moved in and began his training. A few years later they were observing a festival, and saw pantomimes dancing in a play in diamond suits. They were silent but giddy. Haku eyed Quink, "Do you really think that a Queen or King wouldn't laugh as they call you by your name?" Quink rolled his eyes and continued to watch the mimes. "You are a lot like them, quiet but a spirited fellow, you have many diamond shaped items. What if I start calling you HarlequinKnight instead? It sounds oddly regal." Quink giggled and nodded.

A few months later and Haku had decided to retire, and put Quink in his place. Quink would not be lead knight yet, but now he was knighted and served the new Queen and King. He met up with them a few days afterwards for a special mission they had for him, "HarlequinKnight, we want you to search for a specific dragon who we lost long ago. My aunt loved her so and I know she would be devastated to know that she's been missing for years after she passed away. This girl's name is LaVieEnRose, but called Laru. She is an icy pink dragon who has purple eyes because she was found wandering in the lands of Shadow. You will be rewarded greatly for her return."

Quink bowed to them and headed off on his journey to find the lost dragon. A few days into the lands of Arcane a rabid Fae had attacked him. They bit and clawed, and pounced on each other. Inevitably Quink one but not without many tears into his flesh. He didn't want to return home alone without the dragon so he pressed on. He bled for days until he tripped over a dragon's hole and fell onto a large wound. He howled in pain, but his cries caught the attention of a dragon covered in cloths. It put berries and leaves on him to heal his wounds.

"What's your name?" She asked

They made small talk while he was healing. He told her of his mission, hoping she would have any leads on where this dragon could be. When she was done she pulled all her cloths off and revealed the icy pink skin he was searching for. She was as beautiful as the Clan Leaders said, but he was too shy to say that. She journeyed with him back to the clan. In the beginning she would sleep away from him across the fire. Two nights later the cold was fierce and she shivered. He laid beside her and held her close to him, keeping her warm with all of his fur. Within their small talk on their journey they fell in love by the time they returned to the clan.

The Queen and King promoted Quink to head knight and Laru to head nester and hatchling raiser. Quink had fulfilled his new dreams of protecting his clan and providing money for the ones he loved, including his new mate Laru. Neither of them were alone anymore, and as he warmed her cold and lonely nights she paid him with something greater than food or money, but with much devoted love.

Time has passed and the King and Queen have passed on. Now Quink and Laru have been appointed as King and Queen of the Stardust Clan. Their daughter Rose Quartz (Quirt) is next in line!
