Biography
Resheph
Plague Warrior
Plague Warrior
He never really knew his parents, having been sent away not long from the egg. Almost immediately after he came to his new home a plague mirror named Blight took to the hatchling and stole him from the babysitters to raise as her own, as she had yet to sire hatchlings herself. This didn't sit right with the rest of the clan, as unless the hatchling had family it was being sent to live with, hatchlings born outside the clan were usually considered wards of the clan. Blight ignored their protests and imprinted upon the newborn, giving him the name Resheph and keeping him with her at all times, citing that all plague hatchlings brought into the clan were "indoctrinated" with wind principles and useless to her as students. Besides, she wasn't the first to do this, and so long as no harm came to the hatchling... Still distrusted, Blight was kept under careful watch during her raising of Resheph, barred from bringing him to her room to sleep and forbidden from being left alone with him, both things Blight seemed displeased with, but did not otherwise protest. She taught him plague philosophies and told him fables which reinforced plague sensibilities. She was cold when training him, pointing out that if he was not strong enough to endure her training he was no true plague dragon, yet doted on him when he pleased her. Even as the young imperial outgrew her, he remained loyal to her and her alone, calling her "mother" much to the chagrin of most of the clan, who would never insist a hatchling with parents still alive and well call anyone else mother or father. Resheph is aware of his family, and insists that his calling Blight mother is not a veiled insult to his biological parents, merely citing their absence in his early days as the reason. Many are not convinced by this, especially since he seems so cozy with his "mother" and will often outright ignore an order given by any but Blight. It seems to most that he's being trained for something, but no one knows what. At any rate, it seems to have escaped both dragon's notice that he and Sanguinem are related. He was forced to tip his and Blight's hand a bit early when a young fae decided he was going to make up for his mother's abandonment of the clan and offer to become Deputy, second in command. Resheph stepped forward as well, making his case known and offering his strict training and rigid upbringing to the clan in a first act of service. Heulwen has decided to give both parties some time to prove themselves worthy of the position, and with Blight coaching him Resheph is determined to win her vote. He does not trust the fae, he thinks him too soft and impressionable. |
