Biography
Clan Scarbrood sent little Vincul to Driftwood Shore as a kindly gesture of alliance, unaware that one of their children was the one responsible for throwing the Shore into chaos. The clan regards him warily. A dragon sent as a hatchling is an unlikely threat, but the association with Rennic is strong in their minds, and Vincul finds few friendly faces.
Although an outgoing dragon by nature, Vinc is smart enough to keep his head down, stay out of the way, and keep under the radar. When left alone, however, he is an exuberant chaser and destroyer of crabs, galloping and prancing across the empty sand to work off his energy. He spends most of his time wandering around the wildest corners of the island, digging and carrying weird shoots and vines around in his jaws, and occasionally having animated conversations with apparently the plants.
On his return journey from visiting the Lumen Aerie, Vincul passed again through the Forgotten Caves. Under the dubious care of runic bats, he discovered a lone Arcane egg. Hatched, the egg revealed itself to be a sunny little Guardian child, who followed Vinc around and listened earnestly to his babblings about plants. The child has now matured into Sonyee the opinionated Pearlatcher, and she and Vinc spend less time together but still maintain a friendly bond.
Familiar: A treasure! A jewel! Vincul found the beetle in the young forest of the Island, and immediately took a liking to it, to which the beetle responded in kind. The colourful insect crawls across Vinc's body as he tends his plants, looking like an animated piece of jewellery or- unnervingly- somewhat like an errant one of Vinc's eyeballs.
