Silver/Shadow/Denim

Queen in her own mind.

Mate: More of a master/slave relationship with West.
Dislikes: Everything. Everyone. She’s made of rage.
Interests/Hobbies: Turning hatchlings into snacks and inspiring fear in everyone around her.
Fact: Third largest dragon in the clan, Fiend makes use of the fact that both Nevermore and Seven are mild mannered to periodically wreak havoc. Even though Denara is much smaller and softer than Fiend, the ferocious matriarch is still the dragon she fears most.
Origin: It’s generally assumed she was born somewhere awful. But no one is brave enough to enquire further.

"Safety is an illusion. Time to dispel it."

Fiend turned up outside Venin’s lair as a hatchling in dire need of medical assistance. Never one to turn aside someone in need, Venin acquiesced, setting Inerri to the task of helping her back to her sociopathic self full strength. West’s persistence in getting her treatment wouldn’t have allowed any other course of action, although Inerri maintains if she’d known what Fiend was like, she would’ve let the malicious Ridgeback die. Others aren’t so sure Inerri could be that cold, but Fiend still keeps a close watch on her food lest the little Fae slip her something toxic.

With no concept of laws and zero grace in social circumstances, Fiend unapologetically steps on toes, bruises egos and harsh words are generally the only kind she speaks. She has no restraint, her whirlwind rage and aggression causing all kinds of destruction about the place. When visitors and travellers go missing, nobody points claws, but they all know Fiend… misplaced them. She’s also the cause of hatchling disappearances more often than not. Fiend sees the children as snacks; small and easily consumed in a single bite when she’s feeling peckish.

Her short fuse can be set off by even the tiniest insult and when she gets worked into a fury, she’s difficult to stop. Her dissocial disorder makes her seem distant and uncaring… which is true. She doesn’t understand social cues, or know how to be tactful. Her apathy and cold desire for vengeance (even when the slight was minor) create a tense atmosphere whenever she’s involved in something. Fiend is generally avoided by the rest of the clan as a result of her destructive tendencies and savage disposition. The only one who can exist in her presence without finding themselves on the sharp end of her claws is West. They have a strange relationship seeming devoid of emotion but somehow West never seems to invoke her wrath. Evident in his continued breathing.

Fiend’s only real use in the lair is her ability to dig. She doesn’t understand feelings or know what a friend is, but she does appreciate her peace and quiet. So she expands their lair for them in an attempt to create a dark corner all her own. The lower areas of the lair are a mess of labyrinthine tunnels and dead ends. Some speculate that she uses parts of it as a maze; that she lures hatchlings down there and traps them to hunt at her leisure. No one is really sure that’s far from the truth, honestly. But she keeps the space large enough for their growing clan (and she’s not doing it from the goodness of her heart, it’s just an accidental benefit for the others, really). So they tolerate her angry temperament and violent outbursts.

She once declared herself queen of the lair, their rightful overlord… ah… lady. She even appropriated a crown. No one knows where it came from. And no one is brave enough to take it off her. While they don’t agree that she’s the leader of the clan, they sure do fear her enough to keep her placated.
