A fallen prince from the Ashfall Waste, Aegis was forced into hiding after committing atrocious acts of treason under the influence of the Shade -- acts he has no recollection of and Hestia refuses to tell him.

He arrived to the gates of Dorsia on the narrow back of his most trusted knight, unconscious, and remembers naught how Hestia pleaded for his sanctuary at the threshold of the clan, only waking up amongst the bramble of the Wood with Hestia perched at his side.

Aegis, who had never wanted for anything, was forced to quickly become accustomed to his new life. He learned to wash his own silks (he made the mistake of asking Hestia to do it only once, his backside so thoroughly singed that even now, he experiences a phantom sting at its memory) and polish his own crown, despite the fact it has no meaning in the Wood or within his new clan. The clothes off his back are the artifacts of his old life, a life in which he was destined for greatness just by being born.

On numerous occasions, he has asked Lethe to restore his memory -- but it seems a deal has been struck with Hestia, as she refuses to grant his request no matter how grand an offer he makes.
