HISTORY:
Beor is another of the wandering dragons whose travels from other lands have unexpectedly ended with a prolonged stay here. Originally from the Shadow lands of the Tangled Wood, Beor was leading his people in search of safer territory when their small campsite was found by Finrod, a princely fellow who persuaded them that they were safe - and welcome, despite popular belief - to rest awhile in RaisingCain territory.

His former mate and most of his tribe have since moved on in their quest for a new home, but Beor and a few of his offspring remain in the Strand. While his descendants have their own reasons (Beren, for instance, seems to be setting his cap for the regal Luthien - he'd warn the boy about pursuing native royalty if not for, well - pot meet kettle. . .), Beor stayed for Finrod. He swore his loyalty not to the frankly worrisome Feanor or any of his sons, but instead to their cousin - and, despite the many obstacles in his path, has risen to an important position on the outskirts of the clan.

It wasn't easy, convincing Finrod that his feelings were more than the respect of a stranger for the first to show him kindness - or to his eventual mate's father, the calm-until-startled Finarfin, that he was worthy of his son's attention. Eventually, though, Beor did succeed in persuading both, and he still counts himself honored to be Finrod's mate.
