Biography
⚔ B A T S U ⚔
warrior | cursed
She arrived to the Black Riftians as a young hatchling. Remembering her father, Ryuki, Batsu wanted to grow up to be like him. Being as young as she was upon her arrival, the clan’s elders wouldn’t allow her to fight. For a long time, she merely helped the elders carry home supper. Batsu was only allowed to be a little helper and help care for the younger hatchlings. She despised it, and wanted to feel more important. She wanted to be among the best and be able to aid anyone.
Batsu made plans to sneak out for a few days to train. Upon finding the best time to sneak out, she fled home. She had no inkling as to how fighting worked, and struggled tremendously. She wandered deep into the Tangled Wood, and was severely lost. Running low on resources, she found her way into the Forum and set up camp. Wounded, she stayed at the camp for days. Batsu began to feel ill, and she was panic-stricken. Her wings started to glow abnormally, and hints of the Shadowbinder’s Curse took over her. As time went by, the Curse gave her an inexplicable ability to control the Shadow’s brambles. With the newly acquired skill, she used it to hunt for herself. Days went by as she regained her strength and resumed training. Upon her first challenge, fighting a Disoriented Spirit, she discovered something else. Dark wisps overcame her wings, and it became difficult to fly. The glowing dots grew stronger, and heavier. Batsu trailed the dark wisps wherever she went. The Beastclans were quick to notice, and mobbed her to aid the ghostly skeleton. Batsu quickly succumbed to their power, and was kidnapped. Batsu doubted survival, and gave up her fight, her endeavors, her life. Numerous Longnecks sat near her shoddily built holding area. They had a terrified look to their faces, and Batsu noticed this. Still, she had little motivation left. The Vultures pecked at her, and would eat what they managed to rip off her body. Weakly, Batsu snuck a single bramble twine over to one of the Vultures. She desperately wanted them to stop, and wrapped the bramble around its leg. Shrieking, the Vulture panicked and flailed about. The others flew off, leaving the trapped Vulture alone. The group of Longnecks hustled over and in their haste, they knocked over a number of candles. Batsu’s eyes lit up at the sight of the candles on the floor. The ground was dry and deathly, more than perfect for an inferno. The Longnecks freed the Vulture, and took it away. Using more brambles, she broke apart her cell, and headed straight for the flames. Her wings were exploding with pain, but she went onwards. Her tiny claws wrapped around a long branch, and she dipped it to the flames, just in time to see that the Longnecks had returned. Batsu looked around herself quickly, and saw a burning pinecone. She reached for it, and hastily chucked it at the Longnecks, hitting one square in the eye. It yelled out in pain, and fell over; the others ran towards her and started to chant out spells. Batsu commanded the brambles and tripped some. Under her control, the dark vines wrapped around the Longnecks and tightened with every breath they took. Seeing this as her chance to escape, Batsu threw her flaming stick at the remaining bipedal llamas. They shrieked at her, and fled for safety. As Batsu calmed down to regain some energy, a pack of Hounds rushed in. Panicked, Batsu scrambled to get out of the Beastclan’s little village. With her wings being so heavy, she had no choice but to forgo the brambles to keep the Hounds at bay. Batsu’s little limbs worked as hard as they could to carry her to safety. Coming to a familiar area, she forced herself to move faster. A dark figure loomed ahead as she ran. Debating whether or not to turn elsewhere, she looked behind to check where the Hounds were. The Hounds were so close, they could almost snap her tail and recapture her. The dark figure suddenly lunged for Batsu and the Hounds. She thought it was over. She woke up at home, back at the Black Riftians. Keyrin, the founder of the clan, sat next to her, with Shadow on Batsu’s other side. She was severely wounded in her escape for life, but Keyrin reassured that she would recover well, especially with Shadow’s assistance. Keyrin saw her display of prowess during the escape, and was especially impressed. He awarded her a rank to allow her to fight as she pleased, and to assist in leading the clan. Batsu finally felt important. Needed. Wanted. Batsu finally reached her dreams, and was extremely proud of everything she had done. She spent her days doing anything she could to be an important member of the Black Riftians. Batsu managed her Curse better, and relearned to fly with help of Keyrin. Life was good at the Black Riftians. At least for a good while. One day, one of the long-time members left the Black Riftians. Batsu took notice of this, and was very concerned. Keyrin had already left, and she was one of the remaining elders. Most of the clan followed suit, and soon… Black Riftians dropped to a measly member count of three. Shadow, Batsu, and Hotel. Hotel had told Batsu that he was planning to find a new home, since life became very difficult with three dragons. Shadow chose to remain, no matter what Batsu chose to do. She would become a lone wolf, and fend for herself. Knowing her skills, Batsu did not argue. Batsu had to decide what to do for herself. Long ago, she remembered saying good-bye to Ryuki, and had hoped to see him again. Batsu shed some tears, and found it in herself to return to Ryuki. She packed up whatever little belongings she had left, and set out to her childhood home, where she could stay with her beloved father. |
In Batsu’s time with the Black Riftians, she had acquired a number of badges for her endeavors.
