Biography
Dionys Clan Leader
![]() ![]() ![]() | Friends: Here. Enemies: Here. Mate: Here. Dionys once hated the world. Or perhaps more accurately, the world once hated him. Now known as the strong-minded but fair leader of his clan in the Southern Icefield, he was once only known to be cruel and self-absorbed. The desire of the moment drove his actions, whether or not it would result in another's harm. Of course, this only goes one way. When Dionys's own life was threatened, it was quite a different story. An encounter with an assassin is likely to change one's life... and in more than one way. It turned out that Damon was the Light to his Shadow. These days, Dionys prefers a more quiet life of planning rather than doing. No longer singing the praises of living in the moment, Dionys has found that planning is more his forte. Though he'll engage in a fight if he has to, he tends to err more on the side of the careful strategist than the carefree hedonist. |
Dionys in the Moment Dionys huddled over the pages, quill in hand. He squinted. The sun hadn't quite set yet; the sky was still bright. However, even if he turned his eyes to the horizon he wouldn't be able to see the bright yellow orb. Just the yellow glow it left behind. "Are you going to sit there all night?" Damon's voice drifted from the doorway. His shadow cast long across the page. Dionys glanced up with a half-snarl. "Do you mind? There's only minutes of light left." "Is there?" Damon smirked underneath his hood. No assassin was complete without one, after all. Dionys looked toward the fading glow. "Yes, about." Damon crossed the floor and looked over Dionys's shoulder. He sighed, shook his head, and wandered away. Dionys watched him, then looked at his page. He squinted again. He wondered if his sight were to leave him--what would he do? He could always dictate what he wanted written. Dionys was no fighter, though sometimes even the peaceful were called to defend. But was he peaceful? Probably not right now. Right now, he felt somewhat violent. The feelings quickly ebbed as he realized just how dark it was, the world ensconced in shadow. He had to plan for the same to happen to his world, didn’t he? What if one day he couldn’t see? There were some in the clan he trusted to follow his directions and read clearly and with accuracy, and then transcribe in the same manner. Damon... Damon was not one of those. Not that he didn't trust him. On the contrary, Dionys trusted Damon with his life. He'd have to, of course. Sharing a living space with an assassin necessitated it, at least. But, no, Dionys revised. He completely trusted Damon. Damon's handwriting was just appalling. On the other hand, it was hardly as though Dionys would have to read it… should such a time come. The next time Dionys thought about his papers, the potential strategies for defense in case of Beastclan incursion, the sun had set. Stars were just winking into sight. "I hope you're satisfied," Dionys grumbled. "Well..." Damon's grin said all his words didn't. Dionys grunted and stood, went to the door. He didn't intend on giving Damon the satisfaction of any response to that. He looked up at the stars, almost relieved he could see them. And they were beautiful tonight. Far be it from Dionys to admit such out loud... but still... they would never look quite like this again. And who knew? Maybe one day Dionys wouldn't be able to see them at all. Perhaps right now was his only, last chance. "I'm going out." Damon looked aghast. "Excuse me?" "You may come." Dionys cast a glance over his shoulder at Damon. "There will never be a night like this one again." Damon nodded, slowly, as though unconvinced. Then he smiled and nearly skipped after Dionys to follow. "I never could argue with you, you know." Dionys grinned. "It's why I'm still alive." |
