Character traits and overview
Galon is a passionate architect who dreams big, but almost always can make his plans materialize--and even do so in a stable way. Though occasionally haughty and typically ill-disposed toward imperials, Galon is on the whole an amiable dragon who will, even with individual imperials, reserve judgment until he's known the dragon for a few weeks. Unless the other dragon says something incredibly stupid, in which case, Galon will likely be hard to dissuade from his conviction that the remark is representative of intellect, and that he need pay no mind to that dragon.

Past and Background
Galon was born in an all pearl-catcher lair and hated the clashing styles, though he did learn much from his lairmates and the architectural styles he was exposed to. From this upbringing, Galon vowed to bring harmony and architectural beauty to lairs, as well as function. From all the different styles he saw, he pulled elements and learned which could be harmonized to create new and elegant structures and which merely created jumbled messes.

As he grew older, Galon began to stray widely from home, taking projects from other lairs--a habit he would never abandon, even after he left his home lair. His wanderlust and travelling were aided and abetted by his childhood in the Windswept Plateau, where he gained a desire to see all of the world, the archetypal wandering habits of the residents of the plateau, and great prowess in flying.

Galon is constantly designing. In his life at the Clan of the Woven Wave, he at first had little luck with his industrious attempts to shape the clan's lair into a harmonious and well-designed whole. Most of the other dragons either hated his ideas, or didn't think it worth the bother; however, when the clan outgrew their home in the Tsunami Flats, Galon was chosen to design a new lair.

After much consultation with his clanmates and more than a few disagreements, they agreed on a pseudo-gothic style, the most conservative style of any of Galon's proposals. This was no small feat, as many members had quite distinct ideas. Undal insisted that the lair be well disguised, while the imperials and guardians were more concerned that the hallways have enough space to comfortably pass and turn around in. The faes however, were adamant that slight squeezes would be fine and that spaces too large had "unpleasant echoing qualities, not to mention the wasted space and the uncomfortable feeling of emptiness."

Eventually, the clan agreed that main passages would be slightly wider than guardians and imperials needed to pass and turn around in comfortably, while minor passages and halls would be slightly smaller--wide enough for imperials and guardians to turn very carefully. Furthermore, the halls would all have upper balconies, in a cloister-like style for the faes to use. Rooms of faes would have stone niches instead of tree sap nests, and have both doors from the bottom hallways, large enough for the largest dragons and some room besides, and doors from the fae galleries. Eventually, they settled on a similar design for the main room--with a vaulted ceiling opening into a glass and iron-work skylight (to be partially covered with plantings of the shrubby underwater kind, to disguise it) and a single, long ramp gallery spiraling from top to bottom, with only brief interruptions for doors for the larger species. The ramp also had several niches set back, large enough for several faes to dine in. Finally, Galon had designed a grand facade, but Undal was so persistent that eventually he relented, and the exterior became gardens, with small but frequent windows letting light into all the exterior rooms while still remaining unobtrusive.

Not long after the new lair was built, much to Galon's chagrin, a large bone clock appeared in the central room. And on the day it reached the first time increment, with an ominous clanging, all hell broke loose. The peacekeeper, as he was called, began attacking the lair first, killing dragons with what turned out to be shade tainted magic. Then the defenses were breached and young, rebellious Maren from the same clans they had uneasy alliances with poured in. Later, the dragons found out that the disguised outside of the lair had actually bought them time, as the maren had intended to attack at night. For some reason, all of Noelani's wards on the lair failed, at the first touch of grey mist that spiraled from the den of the Peacekeeper. That day was spent in battle, with many falling, while others hid and fled. Maren and dragons alike died. The casters of the lair, with all their powers combined managed to seal the Peackeeper in his den, and stop the smoke, but even after the battle was over, all was not well. The mysterious Chronos had spoken (at least in public) for the first time, warning, just as the bells tolled, that there was catastrophe approaching and that the Peacekeeper must be stopped at all costs. After all was over, over a quarter of the lair was dead, and the survivors tried to piece things together, but nearly another quarter, Galon among them, fled the next day.

Galon and Enlil, though they had been wary of each other, set out together for their ancestral homeland, hoping perhaps to find peace and answers there.
