Baxil claims he was born in blood. Though no dragon alive can claim to remember the moment they first wriggled through their shells, Baxil swears that he does. He swears that he can remember blinking and facing his first light, and then looking down to find that he had been incubated in a warm, thick, heady pool of blood. (Honestly, coming from the mouth of a plague dragon it actually sounds believable.)

It was at that moment, his first moment, that he knew he was destined for battle. The scent of blood imprinted itself on him and Baxil grew hungry for it, grew excited to learn a hundred thousand ways to spill it. Truly, with Baxil telling the story, he'll have anyone believe that he was a natural born killer.

That's why his adopted sister is usually the one telling the story.

Truth be told Baxil's always been a driven dragon, a hard worker without a cause. And truthfully fighting did come easy to him, more so than anyone could have prepared for. But his skill in battle is attributed mostly to the months upon months of hard work and failure that went into shaping him as a dragon, and less about his natural skill. But that hardly makes for a good story.
