Genesis

A loud BOOM went through the den, white smoke puffing out of all the doors and windows in an almost unrealistically spontaneous explosion that could only be the effects of one dragon: Genesis. Everyone jolted awake, an old male's voice ringing through the fog in a yell: "MOTHER OF SHADOW!"

Emerald was dazed, blinking and weaving blindly through the hallways to arrive outside of his laboratory; one of the many small spare storage rooms she'd had, that he took over. "Gen, is everything alright in there, dear?" She tapped her claw on the door, afraid to do it any harder in case the very hinges would crumble away with the disturbance.

"Everything's alright, Emerald!" His gruff but soft voice called out in return. As if to prove him wrong, the door then fell over as she'd expected it to, revealing a cauldron that had fully boiled over, and many a vial and beaker broken into the multi-colored puddle that now flooded the inside of the room. Genesis seemed to lower his head in embarrassment, looking away as innocently as he could manage. "Well! I must say... That, uh... mystery concoction that Aegritus recovered from a Serthis camp... Definitely not a good thing to mix with Bonepriest Venom, Stardust Sap, and Sludge within my special brew..."

There were no comments to be made. Emerald shook her head at Genesis, amused, but now with a house full of odd white powder and fog. "Well, now, write that down with the other 293 mixtures to steer clear from, and I'll go fetch the broom again." They shared a chuckle, and she moved off to clean the house.

Waiting for her to disappear, Genesis then turned back to his messy cauldron. "Haha... I was close, though! Best to retry while the mixture's still fresh... Baldwin won't be the only only mad scientist to create wondrous things!"

...It wouldn't be the last explosion for that week.
