Biography

Under the shadow of Dusk, Sauleneis learned the ways of Ice; notably of conquest in the name of preservation. He would, eventually, end up coming to the Clan of the Harbinger shortly after he became fully fledged in a trade of minds. One clan would receive one of the Light's scholars, the other one of the Ice's preservers. It was hoped that Sauleneis would split his time between working under the scribes and the warriors.

Unfortunately, things didn't quite go as planned.

Arrogant, as most Pearlcatchers are, and used to more active fighting than the defensive stance most under the Harbinger's command. Sparring turned into duels, some of which had to be forcefully ended by Jeverinth. When it was found that Sauleneis was outright stealing from the library and other dragons, it was determined that the Pearlcatcher needed to find a different home. When your taking of items even irritates the Ridgeback, something clearly needs to be done.

He would not do in the Lightweaver's armies, and returning to his clan in the Southern Icefields was not an option because of a blizzard that plagued the area. Besides, the idea chaffed against the Pearlcatcher, knowing he wouldn't have any luck there either. With the knowledge of the Agency's existence within the library, it was suggested that he go there with the intent of finding a home that would appreciate a warrior enamored with hoarding his loot. Or perhaps finding another way to balance his life so it would fit better in a clan society.

He agreed to join Coyotyl on the pilgrimage to Clan Clutter, largely to get away from the stifling environment of the Harbinger and her followers.

Unfortunately for him, Sauleneis was not prepared for life in the Agency. Upon arrival, a strange and dusty book caught the Pearlcatcher's eye. He waited until he assumed its Guardian owner was away for training, and plucked it from its place. It was not long before the Guardian found out, and immediately came after Sauleneis. The fight was broken up, but not before Sauleneis's right wing was severely injured.

Sauleneis was allowed to go to the Training Fields in the Coliseum after his wing healed, in order to regain some of its lost strength and dexterity. Though they did not say it out loud, the Agency leadership also hoped the Coliseum would prove an outlet for his energy, as it had for other dragons in the past. While they were right to a degree, the Coliseum transformed Saulenias life in an entirely different way.

While in the Training Fields with the slowest of the Beastclans, Sauleneis discovered an interesting fact. Many of them carried small trinkets or items. His first discovery was an admittedly cheap battlestone. His second was a pair of dented iron pauldrons. It was a revelation. He not only could fight the Beastclans and receive praise for it, but he could take their items and no one (no one he was concerned with, at any rate) would mind! Sauleneis threw himself into his training, and soon gathered an impressive pile of loot.

After a while, however, Sauleneis himself faced the problem he not to long ago had been causing - another dragon began stealing his stuff. Sauleneis, now better trained, was set to make quick work of the younger dragon, when he remembered he used to the same thing. He still went to find the dragon, but instead brought him to the Coliseum and began training him in the art of constructive thievery, as he called it.

Sauleneis didn't enjoy being a teacher quite as much as he enjoyed going it alone; still, he reflected, it was nice to be appreciated every now and again. Plus, he was perhaps a tiny little lonely. It wasn't long before Agency leader Arcturus realized this, and decided it was time for the Pearlcatcher to seek out his forever family.

Though Sauleneis was still on the fence about joining the Wandering Weaves Clan, He still decided to give their home a try not liking the fact that they said that he couldn't go into the Coliseum until he's settled in.

But that isn't what got him the most, Oh no. It was the fact that almost everyone there had hidden their most prized objects, As if they didn't trust each other and yet they did.
It was strange.
