Biography

"Will you ever notice what's been in front of you this whole time?" Teri can take the form of either a fae or a pearlcatcher, though her natural form is that of a fae dragon. She is an incredibly powerful arcane dragon who trained at the Mica Ministry and has developed powerful spells for gene editing on dragons who wish to change their appearance. Her specialty is centered on these spells which can give dragons new markings or even change their breed and dragons seek her out from far and wide to ask her skills. She periodically teaches classes at the Ministry for those who want to learn those same skills and while she isn't the best of teachers, being rather cold and strict, she cherishes those students who share her passion for the work. This focus on her work has often gotten her into social trouble. She was never an attentive mother, struggled with keeping up with friends, rarely goes out to parties and is rather bad at hiding her true feelings often coming across as brutally honest. When she does go out she often relies on having a drink to be a social little butterfly, but seeing as she doesn't go out often it doesn't bother her much. Since they lived together in the QuickTalon clan, Teri has had a crush on Ruston, however it has always been unrequited. This has been the reason she has followed him to the ends of the earth, in desperately hoping for her love to be discovered through her intense and prolonged loyalty, however to this day she still watches from afar, deeply jealous of his relationship with Miri. |

No, no, no! Terilynn reached into her cauldron and scooped out the gray gritty mess that coated the inside. Since leaving the Ashfall Waste, she did not have nearly as much access to different metals - the crumbling waste in her hand was the remains of a lump of tin ore she'd gathered that morning. She sighed. All she knew was magic - in her old lair she'd been able to use leftover iron and steel to practice alchemy, hoping for gold to add to the hoard. She stared mournfully at the handful of grit.
The Windswept Plateu was beautiful, though. What was left of the Quicktalon clan now resided here in the Wind lands, following Ruston when their old clan fell apart. As if on cue, the red Guardian pushed his way through a knot of bamboo and approached Teri's cauldron. She held her breath as he came nearer, stopped to look in her pot, then continued on. Teri watched his imposing form disappear into another clump of bamboo canes. Teri reached up one claw and scrubbed hastily at her eyes, trying to wipe away the few tears that had gathered there.
She'd known Ruston almost all her life. As the mage of Quicktalon, she'd convinced the old leader Xeroth that Ruston would make a powerful and trustworthy heir. Xeroth had agreed, and had passed over his own blood son to give Ruston the chance. Maloth, Xeroth's child, had killed him for the slight. Ruston did turn out to be an admirable leader, strong and patient. Terilynn found more and more excuses to be near him, even abandoning her only home to follow him to the Wind lands. She realized that somewhere along the way, after years of watching him from the shadows and reporting his every move to his adopted father, she'd fallen in love with the Guardian.
She heard commotion from the thicket and Ruston re-emerged with a white Imperial. Terilynn frowned. Divinity. Ruston had barely left her side since they had come to the Plateau. She heard Ruston's low growling voice, and Divinity's high laugh. There was no way the Guardian would ever notice her when he had a creature like Divinity around. Terilynn looked down into her empty cauldron and wished she could crawl inside and transmute herself.
That sparked an idea. There were spells for dragons to change their breeds, where there not? Of course, Terilynn had no money to purchase such a thing. But she had knowledge of magic. Perhaps she could make something like that herself?
She studied every scrap of information on breed changing spells she could find. Some mornings she awoke curled tightly around ancient spell books, or with scraps of parchment caught in her frills. Breed change spells were closely guarded secrets, thus their incredible prices. All she could manage were tiny tidbits of information, leading to a cobbled-together spell. It would have to do.
The spell was complete, or at least as complete as she could make it. Terilynn gathered all the supplies she needed, pouring them carefully into her cauldron. She cast a circle of protection around the pot, then crawled inside herself. She allowed herself to sink into the murk, felt it soak into her scales. The appropriate sigils glowed in her mind and just as her mouth slid below the surface, she spoke the activating word.
There was a groaning sound, reverberating through the sludge. Terilynn felt a tingle pass through her entire body, felt her bones shift and her wings developed a strange, fluttery ache. The groan suddenly changed to an echoing explosion, and the cauldron burst into pieces. Terilynn slid out of the wreckage, her skin wet and slimy. Her eyes cracked open and she saw the remnants of the cauldron hanging in midair, paused in their explosive exodus by the shield she had cast. Suddenly, they turned inwards, rushing back to fill the void in the center of the circle. With a deafening pop, the protective circle collapsed inwards.
When the dust cleared, Terilynn was left lying in the midst of a circle of glassy-smooth earth. In the exact middle sat a rough sphere of compacted metal. Terilynn felt a strange compulsion come over her, and she clawed her way to the orb. She began to cough and was surprised to find a slimy glob of mucus drop from her mouth onto the sphere. Almost immediately it began to harden, changing from a sticky black to a lustrous, iridescent white. Her heart fell as she gazed upon the mottled new pearl. Instead of transforming her into a regal Imperial, the spell had backfired.
"Teri, Mudreas said he heard an explosion - " Terilynn jumped as she heard Ruston's voice and scrabbled to collect the misshapen, half-formed pearl before Ruston could see it. He burst through the wall of bamboo shielding what was left of her workspace, and stopped dead in his tracks. "Teri?" His eyes traveled from the single horn between her eyes to the tuft of fur on the end of her tail.
Terilynn took a deep breath. She brought the pearl she clutched in one claw around to her front, finding some strange comfort in it's mismatched surface. For the first time she found herself at near eye level to Ruston, and took the chance to look him in the eye. And then - she fled.
On clumsy, new wings she flew. When she could no longer here Ruston's voice calling after her she alighted, too-large claws fumbling in the dirt. One foot still clutched the pearl, but her forearms wrapped around her new body and squeezed in a mixture of panic and giddy joy. For the first time in her life, Ruston had truly seen her.
Moments later she found herself perching on top of the pearl, back to her regular size. One claw reached up to find Fae frills, and her Pearlcatcher's horn gone. Ah. Well, it was clear that the spell needed some work.

Original bio from Khandro's clan
A caring mother to the babies of the clan, even if they aren't hers. She often takes in strays, lost eggs, and other such things from other clans no matter the flight. She ran into Iota some time ago and was taken in by the clan. Delma at the time was still the Female Alpha of Iota's clan, however Iota one day chose her instead of Delma and has stayed in that position since.
