Matira is one of many siblings. Not all chose to stay in the Clan, but Matira did. As daughter of the Clan founder she felt it was her duty to stay and help uphold her mother's legacy. She was her mother's shadow, following her everywhere and helping with whatever task she could. As she grew older, her mother encouraged her to go on The Search to find her charge. In order to please her mother she decided to go, but lucky for her she didn't have to venture far. Her charge was treasure, specifically the treasure gathered and hoarded by the Clan. At this development, Gela decided to appoint Matira as Clan treasurer. Matira was estactic. It was a job fitting for a daughter of a Clan founder, and she got to watch over her charge as frequently as she liked. You can tell who's making the most money in the Clan by how friendly Matira is to them. Currently that position is held by the owner of The Highland Inn, Adina. They aren't quite friends, but there's a level of aloof tolerance between the two haughty dragons. As for the rising factions, Matira has no interest in the political strife between the three groups. As long as their posturing and petty rivalries don't drain the treasury, she's happy. Or as happy as she can be.
As one of the many children of the Clan's founder, Gela, Matira has developed a bit of a superiority complex. In her eyes, she's essentially Clan royalty and she takes it as a personal insult if Clanmates don't treat her with the level of respect she feels she deserves. It's also the reason she fights with her nestmates so frequently. She feels they took jobs beneath their status. And while she may disagree with her siblings choice in work, she absolutely loves her position. Some may think she spends far too much time taking stock of the treasure, but no one would dare say it to her face. She freguently works herself to the point of exhaustion, keeping tabs on the Clan's expenditure and income. She may not care much for the dragons in the Clan, but she'd gladly give her life to protect the essence and ideals of the Clan her mother built. Matira is the treasurer for the Clan, a job that frequently stresses her out. The Clan can be a little loose with their treasure, and they frequently blow it all on lair expansions. It's gotten a bit better now that Seraphine is leader of the Clan, but Matira still has to remind her that they don't have an endless supply of treasure and gems. |

okay i have yet to see this accent look bad on any dragon but Matira is rocking it! The golds go so well with her sandy browns and her shimmering blue, it makes me think of the ocean and buried treasure - which is appropriate given her job. The little touches of jewelry on her neck are really all she needs, she’s stunning! @wildewinged |
