Silvana

Ashenstone was awoken early one morning by Hekate and Phaedrus. The nocturnes had been flying around at night and were about to go home, but as the sun began to rise they noticed an egg on the forest floor. They went to investigate, and found it was nothing like one of the random lost eggs the scavengers sometimes turned up. For one, it was sitting directly in the path that the clan's rangers used to return from most of their forest excursions. It was a nature egg, and it had been kept in pristine condition in its own miniature nest. It was nestled into an almost indestructible cage of vines and padded with moss. It was well hydrated and the sprout on top almost glowed with health.

They brought it back to Ashenstone and she told them to put it in the hatchery with the other eggs. The nocturnes and Gaea tended to it until it hatched. Much of the clan gathered around to see what sort of dragon could come out of the mysterious egg.

As soon as Silvana hatched, rumors began spreading that she was a child of Lindenshield. She looked just like a smaller version of her mother, but with lichen-colored markings instead of moss-colored ones. A few dragons were worried and believed that the clan should return the hatchling to the forest: they knew that Lindenshield was dangerous when angered and they didn't want to bring her wrath down on the clan by accidentally stealing her egg. The clan had a meeting and finally decided to keep the baby on the grounds that the egg had been left for them to find. If the baby was Lindenshield's, which almost nobody doubted, she had surely left the egg in the path so it would be taken in by the clan. Nobody knew who the baby's father was, but it was obvious that her mother wanted her to be raised in the clan where there were many dragons to look after her rather than in the deep forest with only one dragon-- and a busy, secretive, and dangerous one at that.

As Silvana grew, her magical ability became clear. Plants seemed to obey her automatically, and animals were more at ease with her than around any other dragon. She started training to become a druid at a very young age. She also made a lot of friends in the clan in her early days. When she reached adolescence she became a bit more withdrawn, but she still talks to her closest friends and mentors often.
