Caspian came from a big family. A really, really, big family. He and his other two clutchmates had more older siblings than they could count on all of their claws. He and his two siblings looked very near identical, though there were some subtle differences.

Despite the huge family, only a few of their older siblings were actually in the same clan. Caspian grew up around myriads of Coatls more than he did his many half-siblings and siblings. There was always at least three dragons looking to travel to a new clan, and Caspian learned not to have too many attachments to dragons with a certain look in their eyes.

He became very attached the the familiars around the clan. Though one was a constant companion, he cared for all of them, especially the ones with no set dragon companion or those who did not get to travel with their dragon. As Caspian grew, he recognized the feeling of wanting to wander.

Try as he might, it would not be resisted. His clan was a transient one, and generation after generation branched out. So, one day, he left his clan and family in search of somewhere else to live. As he traveled, he asked those he recognized if they knew anything of his clan's current status.

From these old friends he learned his sister was staying, his brother had joined the Stormcatcher, and his parents were doing well. He stayed for short times, resting and catching up, and then was off again. His constant companion was his familiar, a little Ethereal Trickster named Todd who he had refused to leave behind, and Todd had refused to be left.

Caspian traveled for a long time, from place to place. He had friends in Wind, had family in Light, and one or two dragons in Lightning he visited. Perhaps it was the closeness to family in Water that made him settle there for with his mate. Or, maybe, it was the familiars that needed affection. Either way, he and his new mate Gwenlynn have no intention of leaving anytime soon.

Settling into Aerwyna wasn't hard for Caspian. He had an air about him that says 'I understand' and a gentle claw. Hatchlings and familiars where drawn to him, and his quiet demeanor often made him look more harmless than he actually was.

He'd be the last to start a fight, and the first to break one up with a few quiet words. Caspian's mate was Gwenlynn and that was often a surprise to others. But they balanced each other and were loyal.

As it turned out, many things happened. Having a nest was life-changing for Caspian as he and Gwenlynn raised their first three hatchlings. Each hatchling chose their own path. His first three children were two girls and a boy. Lyre, his oldest, was a bold young dragon who was constantly in trouble as a hatchling and often had fights with her mother. She chose to fight for the Tidelord when she grew old enough.

His next daughter Aranwen was more soft-spoken like her father, but with a craving for new things. She left Aerwyna clan to join a small new Shadow clan to the north, chasing after a lover that Caspian did not approve of.

His youngest Terek was a pleasant dragon, who had inherited his father's easy going ways, but had a rage that scared his sister when pushed far enough. He chose to stay and work with his father to care for the companions. However, he was born with short term memory loss. Every day Caspian patiently introduces him to familiars. His son remembers things from a month ago, so each day is spent re-introducing or teaching until Terek remembers.

When the decision was made to move to the Sunbeam ruins, Caspian was overjoyed. To be in his home element once more sounded fantastic, and the Lightweaver's acceptance of their allegience more so. When Rosamunde and Stuttgart announced that they were stepping down, only a limited number of things could have happened.

The least expected was the nearly unanimous nomination for him to be Clan Patriarch. He denied it, turned it down, and protested for as long as he could. In the end, the former Matriarch and Patriarch roles were dissolved, and Caspian became a clan Leader, part of a three-way group of respected dragons. Himself, Aravind, and Vlad now share the responsibility of taking care of Aerwyna, which has become more and more of a bustling city.
