Weakness is a concept that the "White Wind" of the Zephyr Cult has tackled since an early age; it was weakness that led to the untimely demise of both of her parents. She wears her mother's ring, now. (Her father's remains in a locked box in her chambers.) Many would consider it morbid. The captain of the Silver Wing considers it a memento, and a reminder. When she looks at it, she remembers late nights when the skies were completely clear, and she could see thousands of swirling nebulae and glowing stars; she would curl up beside of her parents and listen to them tell stories of brave warriors and glorious battles. She always knew that, one day, she would become one of them - she would be the one to protect her people from the evils and the darkness and the nightmares. She would protect them.

TEMPEST is the captain of the Silver Wing, the elite warriors of the Zephyr Cult. Most of the cult dislikes her; she is stoic, lacks empathy, and has a tendency to be brutally honest. She is, nonetheless, exceedingly capable, with a tactical, brilliant mind that is rarely put to much use in the peaceful domain of the Cult, so they grudgingly admit that she is by far the best woman for the job. Tempest's father was the captain before her, and she was hand-picked by the Zephyra as his successor after his death at the hands of the rank's ceremonial Gale Wolves. Most dismissed it as impossible for her to actually achieve the rank, which would require taming the very beasts that killed her father. Tempest managed to tame the pack with disturbing neutrality, and, while they seem very loyal to her, she regards them with an odd mixture of caution and respect. She knows that should she falter in front of them, or display any sort of uncertainty, the wolves will not hesitate to dispose of her. Tempest often runs with the pack, but there is an understanding between them, and nothing more.

Tempest maintains a close relationship with a few members of the Cult; namely the Zephyra, who took her in after the death of her mother at the hands of a group of Beastclan warriors, Auster, who she has sworn to protect with her life, as the Hierophant of wind, and Alya, her second-in-command. Her mate is the younger Aquilo, the head scholar and, technically, her equal in rank. Their courtship was arranged by the Zephyra, and there is no love evident between them - in fact, they maintain a quarrelsome relationship, and prefer to avoid each other at all costs. Aquilo's lackadaisical, fickle nature clashes with the serious, distant personality of Tempest like fire and water, and only time will tell if they can ever learn to tolerate each other, much less raise hatchlings, as the Zephyra has made it evident that she expects. Tempest does not believe that she could become a good mother, much less if she had to raise her progeny with Aquilo, and avoids the topic like the plague whenever the Zephyra brings it up. She struggles to make emotional connections, even with those that she interacts with on a daily basis. Alya seems to find her tragic, but Tempest herself considers it a strength. She has gone through life with a single goal, and she refuses to let anything capricious interfere with her concentration.

She will protect her people.
