"Narangerel"

Self-important, generous; dreams of cities in the sky

First-born Narangerel, eldest of his nest, nicknamed for an ancient Light philosopher-architect. The historic Narangerel was said to be as brilliant and creative as she was impetuous and self-absorbed, and it seems the modern-day hatchling so nicknamed is primed to take a page or two out of her book. He seems to think quite highly of himself, and ascribe entirely too much significance to his hatching a full minute ahead of his siblings.

Despite his emergent lofty airs, Narangerel seems to view his inherent worthiness as a badge given to him by the Lightweaver Herself as a reminder of his duty toward others. He will gladly share food, sleeping space, and ideal sun-bathing locales with his siblings and creche-mates (not without extoling his own virtues in doing so, of course). He has a tendency of following-up with his younger cohorts to make sure they've all eaten enough or had their fill of this or that treat. While this behaviour often annoys his cohorts, the adults find it charming and occasionally refer to him as "Little Father."

Narangerel's current architectural obsession is the World Pillar, and he dreams of one day studying the ruin for himself in order to learn its secrets. It's not unusual for his parents to catch him staying up long after sundown, pouring over whatever mention of the Pillar he can find in his mother's cache of manuscripts. When he sleeps, he dreams of building lairs as tall and perfect as the Pillar in its glory days, with a view of Sornieth spreading perfect and wide in all directions.
