_________________________________________________________ She doesn't act like a typical pearlcatcher at all. She doesn't shy away from a fight, although her skills are best utilized with her strategizing or attacking with powerful magic from a distance. She's clever and great at coming up with strategies. Acania is an excellent leader, as well- she's able to gain the respect of dragons almost instinctively, and she knows how to keep them all united for a common goal. Acania's egg was found by an Arcane clan. However, once she hatched, they exalted her to the Arcanist, as they did not have enough space for another dragon. She received an excellent education at the Observatory. Indeed, when she was a hatchling, she met the Arcanist himself on a few occasions, during which she asked him plenty of questions. She wasn't raised by Pearlcatchers, and thus didn't gain the typical haughty attitude of most Pearlcatchers. However, she was trained alongside other hatchlings by some of the most powerful mages of the Arcane Flight, and learned to be an excellent mage. Once she was an adult, Acania was given a position in a team of dragons under the service of the Arcanist. She was one of two mages, alongside a fae. A few guardians and mirrors made up the melee forces, and an imperial with a hide as white as snow was the one who led them all. A few years after she had been assigned to the team, the Arcane Flight and Nature Flight found themselves in a bitter conflict with each other. Acania's team was assigned the job of attacking the Viridian Labyrinth itself. Her team was successful for a time as they cut through the Shrieking Wilds towards the Behemoth itself. However, an ambush from deeper in the forests resulted in serious casualities to the Arcane Flight, including the death of the imperial leading the Arcane forces. Acania began issuing orders to the Arcane forces, and her leadership skills finally got a chance to shine. Although only a few of the dragons survived, it was because of her good judgement that they lived at all. One of her superiors decided that her skills would be better utilized serving the Arcanist by leading a clan, and so she left the Observatory to do so. Under her leadership, the clan now reigns from a grassy plateau within the mountains over a stretch of the Starwood Strand. |
