Hayes' name is well known across the flights, though his face is lesser known giving him just enough anonymity to travel through some of his favorite cities. He just can't stay long, lest someone might finally recognize him. Hayes is an infamous pirate! A swashbuckling thief who does what he wishes and steals what he pleases, Hayes is a dedicated dragon though others may say obsessive, he strives to amass enough wealth to deem himself royalty. Some call him disillusioned in his quest but he ignores it all, that is his goal and he will do whatever he can to succeed in his task. Normally Hayes and his crew live out in freedom amongst the clouds, piloting their airship and plundering with a carefree recklessness, however a recent attack by a rivaling ship left them in disarray, half his his crew was lost to an attempted mutiny and once he finally got away his revolting ex companions he managed to park his damaged airship at the Frost Barren Peak harbor where he and his few remaining compadres are recuperating. Even though his stay in the city is just temporary he's made an effort to get talk everyone that piques his interest. While here he has gotten to know many of his new acquaintances, the one he's bonded with most and actually an old friend of his, the tradesmen Aegrim is a kind and just as money focused as Hayes, Aegrim runs a side business, a pawn shop of sorts, where he buys and sells rare or possibly borrowed items. Hayes likes to work, when not fixing his ship he can be found doing odd jobs and handyman work around the city, mostly for those he knows, like Aegrim and Diya. He's often found helping another trader he does business with Zaina. One of his few remaining crew mates his the ships Cabin boy Wakeley, now working as his aid, a soft spoken dragon working under Hayes and his fellow pirates. Hayes sees him sort of like a servant to boss around, though he doesn't take kindly to others mistreating his crew mates and will actively defend them verbally and psychically, cabin boy included. He even gave him a gift, a small lapis necklace to wear. His closest friend, or crew mate, would be Annesly, who also happens to be the main engineer and mechanic. Despite Annsley's unconventional behavior and general quirkiness he gets along very well with Hayes, listens to his every command but doesn't suck up to him, he'll voice his own opinion if needed. |
Dialogue:
Hayes stood watching his airship tied to the docks, it swayed pitifully, creaking wood and damaged hull caused Hayes to sigh deeply at the disheartening sight.
He felt a hand clasp his feathery shoulder and turned to see the face of his engineer, Annsley grinned wildly at him “Ey now cap'n it ain't the end'uh the world, we'll get'er fixed up. I won't sleep 'till engines purrin' again!” he cheered before his wide-eyed gaze locked onto the ship, head bobbing to follow its gentle rocking.
Hayes chuckled, shaking his head before looking down at his claws unable to stomach the sight of his ruined ship any longer “Sure Ann, sure, don't get any more crazy on me, alright?” he humorously replied with a pat to the engineer's back.
A short laugh left Annsley “I'll try me best, cap'n.” was his absent reply before Hayes took his leave, snaking his arm around Wakeley's neck he dragged the cabin boy forward.
Glancing to Wakeley's worried expression Hayes brought plenty of confidence to his gruff voice “We'll be back in the air in no time.”

Hayes has the reputation of a heartthrob though many prefer to call him a swashbuckler, some in a bad way, others good.
Few see his more neurotic side, fighting with and picking on his crew he has a very divisive reputation between the dragons who see him differently.

The Harbor:
A massive port at the edge of the city where airships dock to enter, many homes, taverns, stores, and buildings have been erected to make this area more lively due to the growing population.
This is a casual place, everything seems lax, even the laws. Be careful, not many guard patrol this area making it a bit dangerous if you don't head straight to the Commons.
