Biography
Zohar was not sure what he expected, when representatives of an Arcane clan descended on the clan of his birth and asked to add him to their family.
But it most certainly wasn't the cheerfully amused, teasing and welcoming looks and jokes that surrounded him, or the constant gentle nudging, as his escorts dragged him into one of the more private corners of the clan's carefully designed and maintained lair, shouted "Kokone! Come look!" and left.
A skydancer poked her head out of an elaborately decorated (magical) door, blinked, and was suddenly examining him from head to tail.
"What's your tertiary color?" she asked, the first words anyone had said directly to him since he arrived at this strange lair that was to be his home.
"Um... Maize?" he said, ducking his head- would she decide, if his tert was wrong, that they wouldn't keep him? But he was SURE he'd already met the clan leaders, and they'd seemed so friendly and happy to meet him-- the young pearlcatcher was nearly knocked off his feet as the skydancer threw her wings and arms around him in a ridiculous-looking hug.
"I'm Kokone," she said. "You're Zohar, if you've not already earned a name. We're going to make the most AMAZING babies, when we both grow up! How do you feel about becoming a skydancer?"
"Uh..." he blinked, gripping his pearl tightly, and said, honestly, "I've never considered it. I... guess I wouldn't mind. As long as I can keep my pearl."
"Okay!" Kokone said, releasing him and practically bouncing into the ceiling- like a spiral, and not the graceful Skydancer she was. "Come see our room!" she said, dragging him along behind her through the magic door.
And that was that.
