Biography
In the lush bamboo forests of the Windswept Plateu lived a hermit dragon. Some called her a sorceress, a witch, but some called her miracle worker or lover of life. She ignored both groups of dragons, and proceeded on with her daily toils over sick dragons. One afternoon, when frost had just begun to cover the ground, a small figure approached the hermit. She set her pack down and began to talk. At first, the hermit ignored the figure, and continued to tend to her garden, since there were no patients at the time. But the stories that the fae dragon spun were so exquisite, so intricate in detail, that soon, the miracle worker began to listen. She was drawn away from her farmwork, as the storyteller told her the tale of a single fae, and the ice she had endured. They sat the whole day, a circut, the hermit drinking in the stories, and the fae, dringking in the attention. As the sun set, the figure packed up her things, and left. The hermit, eager to hear more, followed quickly, packing only the most basic of medicines and supplies. She reached the fae's camp, and found a few smiling dragons sitting around a roaring fire. The fae was making motions with her hands to what looked like a terribly exciting story. She noticed thr hermit, and waved her over.
"Welcome to our clan," she said in her humming voice.
The hermit realized what made her voice so captivating. It had inflections, differing from most fae she had met before. She glanced over to the side, where a sick dragon lay in a pool of cold, clear water, a compress on his forehead.
"You really must take better care of your clanmates." Grumbled the hermit, her voice cracking a bit, for lack of use.
"Perhaps, you could help." Said another fae, brown in color.
It took the hermit a while to realize that it was a question. When she finally did, she replied quickly, "Yes, yes, of course. I'll need to run back to my den to get a few things but-"
"No, no, let us get them for you." The male fae motioned to a white spiral. The dragon left, in a blur of motion.
When the dragon returned, she was carrying all of the things the hermit had requested. She treated the sick dragon, said her goodbyes, and left.
Her visits became more and more frequent, now not only to treat dragons, but to gain companionship. After a few months, the gray fae, Dawnshade, as she now knew her, invited her to join her clan. The hermit accepted, gruffly muttering "Well, I suppose you could use a healer."
She soon accepted a two part name, as was customary to the clan.
And she has lived in the clan ever since
