Thorbjorn guards the northern borders of the clan along with Nymeria. He was born in the Southern Icefields and lived there for the majority his youth. As an adolescent dragon, he joined an expedition to sail around the borders of the continent trying to find uncharted territory and verify the accuracy of the current maps. The leader of the expedition managed to anger the Tidelord (going against the water priest's warnings about waiting for sunrise to pass the Gladeveins delta) and found themselves shipwrecked near the northern edge of the Viridian Labyrinth. Thorbjorn had made it farther north than the others, and at first thought he was back in the Southern Icefields somehow, but he realized he had found an uncharted icy region north of the Viridian Labyrinth. He wandered inland and encountered another solo traveller, Nymeria. Together they continued, falling slightly in love with each other on the journey, and eventually found Ashenstone's clan. There they enjoyed the company and free food for a while, but Thorbjorn couldn't stand the climate for very long. He and Nymeria ended up volunteering to guard the northern border from Beastclan invasions as a way to repay the clan and live in a more comfortably cold region. At first he was worried that Nymeria, being from the Sunbeam Ruins, wouldn't last long in the icy northern border, but she assured him that she had spent most of her life outdoors in highly varied weather and wouldn't have any problems.
