Yaaldeva

Yaaldeva, or, more frequently, Yaal, is a noble and straightforward warrior. She is a fervent believer in the practicality and ceremony of dueling, and often engages in fierce one-on-one sparring matches with other dragons she deems worthy. She is not a hunter, insisting that killing a creature who cannot defend itself is against her beliefs. She acts as the clan's enforcer instead, ending squabbles, distributing rations, and carrying out Azhemal's will at home while Eripete handles disagreements over the border. She is famous among the clan for her roar-although, if asked, they will never speak of what makes it so distinct. Newcomers must discover that for themselves.
Yaal was intended for Ridjava, an imperial who was brought to the clan with the specific purpose of creating large, powerful hatchlings with the self appointed guardswoman. She accepted this as her duty readily, but while waiting for space to clear for a nest, she became enamored with the wildclaw Odynon. She has recently confessed that her eggs are the wildclaw's, and while she was at first ashamed of her failure, the pairing has been approved. Odynon is from Eripete's line, and it is therefore seen as a strengthening of one of the prominent pedigrees in the clan. Yaaldeva and Ridjava remain on good terms and intend to produce a clutch of eggs despite Yaal's slip. Ridjava himself has taken some interest in Odynon's sister, and as such the two wildclaws, the imperial, and Yaal have entered a strange but comfortable and respectful situation wherein they all fully accept and support the bonds made between all parties. Azhemal disapproves. Crispin doesn't care.
