Karla

One might be pressed to ask why she seeks to leave the Clan she was born into--Lightning flight, as seen by her bright, jay feather blue eyes. However, there is little she desires to say on the topic. After all, it is hardly the thing she finds most interesting about herself, for, don't you know, many others have left other Flights and Clans, settled in another, and were completely fine? Only, Karla is not looking to settle somewhere permanently. No, she is only answering the Call her deity gave her at birth--the Call to wander and collect information, to see the world with her two eyes and ascertain if Lightning is still the best Flight there ever was.

Her parents begged her not to go, her leader asked her if this was the best choice, all words which fell on Karla's deaf ears as she packed her belongings into a pouch she plans to carry with her, filled with food and other supplies, including star charts and maps of the other territories, collected from Snappers with novel-like memories and Spirals with their quick instructions, given out rapid-fire. If anything, Karla is a practical dragon--she will not detour, will not make a scene about her leaving. Unfortunately, and to her mounting chagrin, her parents are causing an uproar, yes, an uproar, about their daughter's decision. Not that they don't respect her wishes and dreams, but really, could their daughter not stay?

No, the truth is that she cannot. Even if the deity of the Lightning Flight had not called her heart away, one could say that Karla was always the type to be a wandering spirit. She has an insatiable curiosity to know the world, to know the secrets she could uncover, and the thirst to devour them all has haunted her since she was but a tiny hatchling. While her Clan of Birth is yes, making plans to move, it is not soon enough for the independent coatl, nor where she desires to go first. No, first she will travel to where her species started- The Ashfall Waste, and make her way from there--perhaps onto Plague, then the Sea of a Thousand Currents, and maybe even take on a familiar along the way. She does as her heart desires, with little concern with what it does for others. Perhaps, in this case, she shows both tenacity and insensitivity, combined to make it difficult to sway her.

This is an enduring, proud coatl who will not be swayed fro her decision. Should you try, be wary, for she has the power of lightning on her side. Do you really want to chance it?
