Tempest Keeper
Quiet, contained, mysterious, difficult to approach

Unlike the majority of her lairmates, Layla is a quiet sort; reserved, keeps to herself, and speaks only when spoken to. She is known to spend much of her time on the outskirts of the Carrion Canyon with her beloved familiar, an Umbra Wolf that she took with her from the Tangled Wood when she traveled to the lair as company and companionship. On rare ocassions, she disappears from the lair entirely, returning after several days without mention of where she went. Because of her odd need for secrecy, her lairmates tend not to ask about her excursions and don't give her much thought.

Though one would think her to be unreliable, she isn't entirely, and this is mostly due to her background and exactly what she is able to do - hints of her origins are present not just in her eyes, nor in the Shady Sash that she keeps around as a reminder of her home region, but her abilities. Despite her tendency towards absence, when she is needed she will inexplicably show up before being questioned heavily about where she just came from and how - questions that have never been answered. During combat, she is able to travel unseen around the environment, only giving away her location when her enemies meet their end at the hands of her claws, and supposedly, something else. When she's present, an ominous chill seems to fall over the battlefield and smaller enemies hesitate before attacking, seemingly afraid of some terrible demise.

Her distressing presence is due to her origins - she is one of the two firstborns of a demonic dragon who resides deep below the Tangled Wood, his lair unknown to all but those who seek it. Though still enchanted by the very same dark magic that runs throughout the Shadowbinder's domain, it is twisted into something different - not so different that a surface dragon may not wander its belly freely, but just different enough that the air around it feels alien. Layla's origins are kept secret from any and all who know her. All they're aware of is that she is certainly from the Tangled Wood.
