13082.png 		The onslaught of beast dragons came on more quickly than ever fathomed. Oceania had absolutely no idea they were even coming.

Oceania and her mate, BigBrother (a nickname- He had never revealed his true name to her) were in charge of supplying the dragons that would go on to serve their deity, and so she was on her way to the woods to train up her children to prepare them for their service for the grand Lightweaver when it happened.

The first dragon came light a flash. Sh-she remembered it well. It sprung right from the woods and bounded up the Grand Staircase where she and her family were, tackled her son to the ground and sank its long, dirty teeth right into the flesh of his neck.
Another. Another dragon beast soared from the woods and snatched another one of her young right from her side, its talons slicing into her back as she was lifted from the ground and carried away. Her young had no flying lessons yet.
As soon as the beast carried her far enough up into the air, it dropped her, sending her speeding d-down against the unforgiving stone below.
Oceania tried desperately to block out the sound.
Sh-she tried desperately to scoop up her other child and fly away, but she was no where to be seen. Oceania whipped her head back and forth frantically, finally spotting her daughter just as soon as her limp body was dragged into the darkness of the trees.

The sky blue coatl h-had no other option. She sprinted for her life back up the stone steps and back into her clan of frantic dragons.
These beasts were soaring through the air overhead and dashing from the woods, drool flying from their disgusting mouths and eyes completely blank of any color save for the small, black slits of their pupils. Some had coloring in their eyes, but if they did it was completely black.
Oceania ran for the edge of the clan overlooking the sea. Sh-she would fly away! She would fly f-far, far away until it was safe..!
All around her dragons were dashing and fighting off these beasts. Dieu was soaring overhead, crying out in pain as he fought with two at once.
Oceania w-was too scared to try and help. She was t-too scared and--

She immediately felt a huge weight upon her body, smashing her into the hard ground. The air was pushed from her lungs and so she gasped painfully, her vision pulsing with black. She frantically struggled, unable to crane her neck around to see what h-her threat was. She knew. She k-knew from the drool dripping down onto her back and the hot breath up against her neck.

But then the weight was gone.

A flash of red and black had whipped the beast from Oceania's body, and she quickly stood. She froze. Brother had come to her aid. H-he had come to her, and he was now desperately fighting off this beast dragon, the both of them writhing around and snapping their jaws at one another.
The beast had the advantage.
O-Oceania took a few slow, shaky steps back as she watched the dark dragon clamp its jaws right around Brother's neck and clamp down with all its might. The light from the red-crackled coatl's eyes immediately diminished, his windpipe crushed and his body frantically squirming around for the breath it could not intake. He screeched out a frantic, breathless scream before completely going limp, his body crumpling down to the ground.

Sh-she could not watch.
With tears bubbled in her eyes, Oceania took off right then and there. She launched herself from the Sunbeam Ruins and set her eyes on the Windswept Plateau. H-her grandparents lived there.
S-surely they were not also experiencing this crisis. Surely sh-she would be safe there!
