Xinlan has never done much in his clan. He watched the nests, watched the other dragons, and tried to keep Ichor from doing anything rash. But he's always longed for a life of traveling, as some of his clanmates have the most amazing stories. So he is now traveling, waiting to gather stories to tell.

4th September - Evening
#84964 Xaldin, Shadow Lair
Having decided to leave his old clan behind, Xinlan spread his wings in search of new adventures. His first journey turned out to be unexpectedly short as he glided over the Wispwillow Grove before spotting a clan of black-clad dragons skulking below in the murky undergrowth. Bidding him down, Xinlan was offered food and rest for a while before he continued on his way, and, settling down to partake in their offer, shared evening stories with the strange dragons. Throughout this time, a Black Wolf took a liking to Xinlan and accompanied him during his stay with the black-coats.

#132480 HeavensAxis, Light Lair
Xinlan's next destination was the Axis Alliance, a destination he found was divided into fivefactions. He was faced with the option of decision, and decided to head down the road to the Hymn Turbulence. Which, don't get him wrong, sounded much more appealing than the Purgatory Circus. There, at this faction, he met a little fae by the name of Pixel. She was a kind little fae and introduced him to various parts of her hometown. First, she brought him to a dance practice centre where he watched as dragons tried out their new dance moves. Xinlan even gave it a try and learned a few new moves himself! Tired from dancing, Pixel brought Xinlan to a feasting house, where they tried multicultural foods and delicacies. He had a fun time, he would not deny, but he wondered if there were more places like this, and decided it would be time for him to go. He said his farewells to Pixel, and set out for a new adventure.

16th September - Morning
#138197 Jennalyn, Earth Lair
Having tried his hand at the east, Xinlan next decided to travel north and west to the storied plains of Dragonhome. He flew in to the south of the great pillar, in surprised awe at its size even from a distance. His vantage afforded him a view of many small but industrious clans expanding their territories in the Shattered Plain, clouds of dust rising from their efforts. A clan of Longnecks traveled en masse from rock to rock, skirting the territorial pockets of dragonkind in favor of their own company. When the sky began to darken, he took refuge with a clan that had tunneled their lair into the face of a massive, craggy bluff overlooking a dry riverbed and spent the evening swapping stories. They warned him not to linger too long over the open plains. Their Longneck neighbors, particularly one restive clan, had caused a great deal of trouble lately. He took their warning under advisement when he set out the next morning.

#175814 Madeon, Ice Lair
Xinlan's next destination was the Southern Icefield. Upon entering Clan Imperium, he was greeted by a friendly Wildclaw named Ava who offered to show him around. The clan was made up of a wide variety of individuals from scholars and criminals to performers and sailors. Ava took Xinlan around to meet all sorts of different dragons, but he found a particularly enjoyable companion in Ava's mate Dan who was a dancer for the royal court. Having learned some moves while staying with the Axis Alliance, Xinlan joined Dan in a performance for Clan Imperium's leader Crassus that night where they were met with a great deal of praise. After staying with the clan for a few days, Xinlan decided to head out once again in search of more stories to tell. He would miss his new friends a great deal, but he knew he was always welcome back at any time.

#159336 Megann, Arcane Lair
The first thing Xinlan noticed when he entered this clan is that the sky was very beautiful. He took a whiff of fresh air and walked inside the entrance of the clan. He was greeted by Dreamcatcher, the clan's leader. She guided him to the travelers den. He noticed hammocks situated under the stars. He feel asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow. He woke up and saw a lot of the clan members playing games with each other and hunting. Aloa approached him and said hi. She took him over to the coliseum to train. He got tired easily, but he managed to get through some rounds. After training, Aloa took him to meet the other dragons of the clan. He saw true diversity around the clan. Dragons of all different backgrounds were here. This made him feel accepted here. His stay at this Arcane clan has been a blast! When the sun started setting, everyone gathered around and stargazed. He headed back to the den and feel asleep. Boy, he was enjoying his stay alright. He knew he couldn't stay for long because he wants to keep exploring this world.
21st October - Midday at 12:28 Flight Rising Time
#275544 BlackJasper, Water Lair
It was a weird day for Xinlan. He just couldn't remember the stretch of between being in the previous clan and wherever he was now. He stepped foot on the sandy flat, enjoying the waves washing over them. Suddenly, a mysterious being rose out of the waves, splashing him in the progress. He turned to see a small fae male flapping his wings apologetically at him. He squeaked out a small hi, and Xinlan smiled back at him. The little fae brought him to his clan, which was small and cozy with only two other dragons. The three became a team, going out and fighting baddies, then splitting the rewards. Xinlan got really strong quickly, in fact, one might say he appeared to be level 25. They had a lot of fun, hiding and splashing each other, and jumping over the waves of Tsunami Flats. As he spent more time there, and he saw the population of the clan growing in size with diversities of all elements, he felt a tug to return to traveling. He looked at this relatively new clan, which he had spent so much time in, looked at the hatchlings and dragons that adored him, and his two friends which he'd had so much fun with and felt a pang of sadness. He shouldn't have stayed that long, he knew, but he must've forgotten. After all, the waters could do mysterious things.
He supposed traveling was becoming quite tiring. After all, he's found a home here with this happy, bustling clan.
~
After a busy year had passed, he suddenly felt an urge to revisit his friends that had accompanied him those long days ago. Biding a quiet farewell to this place he now called home, he flew out, keeping the image of his home in his heart for he knew he will always come back to it.
Having reached the Axis Alliance, he eagerly landed in search for dear little Pixel. As the day ended and he still hadn't found her, he became more frantic. Finally, someone noticed him and told him Pixel went out not long after he had left- in search of a brand new place. He rested there for the night, and as the morning sun rose, Xinlan was off again to track down his friend.
It took quite a long time- difficult being away from his family- but at last, he found Pixel. The reunion was a tearful but happy one, with much dancing and shared laughter. He was relieved to find her safe and happy, and so he postponed his leaving for a week and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his old- and yet new- friend.
Alas, he still had others to visit and with the reassurance that she was okay, he took his leave.
His next stop was Clan Imperium, where he was devastated to find that both Ava and Dan had left to serve the Lightweaver. At least they left together, he thought to himself, brushing tears out of his eyes. So much had happened...
That was not the end of the news though, as Crassus had also left to serve- this time the Arcanist. Things had gone south some months ago, and he was driven out of the clan, overthrown.
Xinlan shook his head a little and sighed sadly. This clan holds too many memories for him- memories that were now painful. He declined the offer of staying the night and instead headed out to revisit his other "homes."
Painful memories followed him through every path.
Probably the thing that devastated him the most was the disappearance of Ichor. Despite all his warnings when he departed, his old friend had went ahead and done something rash, like he always did. And he paid for it. On shaking wings, Xinlan flew back to his clan, tears leaving a brief trail behind him.
It took many a night of ruthless flying, only stopping when he near collapsed from exhaustion, but he returned back to his lair, toppling over into the waters just before the clan door.
The next morning, he woke up to water splashing over him and a faint groan. He sat up, retrieving strength from the so-familiar waters and marvelling at how he- a fire being- could feel so comfortable in the waves. He looked up into the face of the tiny male fae and laughed- some things just never change.
But they do.
He walked into the clan to find new faces peering at him in curiosity and slight boredom. Older faces from the clan he scanned eagerly for and yet didn't find. Brightstone flew up and perched atop his shoulder.
"Many a things have changed in your absence." He murmured to Xinlan quietly.
"I can tell." Xinlan whispered back, saddened. He didn't know how he'd be able to deal if his old friends from this home had left.
Suddenly the crowd parted, and there they were. Proud, stubborn Smoke. Sweet, lovely Myst. Mysterious, childish Morpheus. Ferocious, protective Veta. They were all there. And the hatchlings when he had left were all grown up now, on their faces the look of someone that knew they knew him but couldn't quite remember. Some of the previously newer members back then were now so fully integrated in this clan, it's hard to imagine them being elsewhere.
A few missing faces stabbed at his heart, but no one he couldn't live without. He sniffled, before turning his head away. He had already cried more than enough times in the past few months that he had been gone, anymore would be disgraceful. And yet...
He looked at the young hatchlings chasing each other through the waves, looked at all the new and old faces, all together and he smiled.
It's so nice to be here.
