As Queen and Founder of The Underhang, Ling keeps track of what comes in and out of the city. She knows where each and every item has come from and been. and knows the reason each dragon sought or came to find this city. Perhaps she is the one who built this city, having found herself lost in a land that was cold and ultimately unkind.

Born during chaos, it is said that lightning and thunder warred overhead as she hatched. A fierce thunderstorm ripped through the land where she had come from tore her away from her family. Although a dragon of the wind flight, she was taken in by the earth flight after no dragon from the wind flight took her as their own. It is said that she created The Underhang so that no hatchling would have to be ripped away from their parents by the jaws of a storm - just as she had been.

As she began building The Underhang, determined to work on her own as she had had no dragons to help her, she found ValleyWanderer. Helping Ling build the city, they built the city from the ground up. Together, they made the Underhang a safe place for all and soon dragons would flock to the city. Even Kiskal, a dragon who had been lost for longer than even Ling and had been living in the forest, too scared of the growing city to come near, finally realized that The Underhang was a place of safety and comfort. Soon, ValleyWanderer and Ling would become mates, planning to live the rest of their lives together in The Underhang. Perhaps one day, they would wonder, their hatchlings would take over rule of the city and continue the legacy of The Underhang in their honour.
