NAKIA'S OBSERVATIONS:
Every time a group of beings comes together, whether they be dragon or beastclan, there must always be a leader. The leader doesn’t need to be a single being, or even a being at all. It can be a group or an idol, active or passive, honest or deceptive. No matter what, however, there must be something in place to unite the group. That isn’t to say Cirrus is a figurehead; to imply something like that would be unfair. He believes in this clan just as much as I do, and he does us good. Sure, his head may be in the clouds sometimes, but Cirrus’s heart is here with us. Personally, I think he’s too trusting of people. His automatic instinct is to welcome dragons in his clan, no questions asked. It doesn’t always end peacefully. He means well, I know that, but he’s slow to the offensive sometimes. One good thing about that is that, if there’s any way to end a conflict without bloodshed, he’ll find it. Cirrus has a good heart; that’s his greatest asset as our leader. I can cover for whatever shortcomings his soft spots create.

Cirrus isn’t always up-to-date on the official business of the clan, but he does know many small and important things that I sometimes miss. He knows everyone in the clan by name, and he knows about their lives and their dreams, as well. This pure, unadulterated concern for the people under his care is what contributes the most to the trust and respect they have for him. He daydreams quite often, however. I don’t know what he thinks about, but I don’t think he’s making up children’s tales. Whenever he comes back from sitting under the skies, sometimes for hours on end, he tells me some of what he’s been thinking. Sometimes it’s about scientific theories that he’s heard of, and sometimes it’s about philosophical brain fodder. Either way, he’s sometimes seen as spacey by those who don’t know him. I think they just haven’t yet seen his hidden depths.

I had seen a lot of bad places before I finally came to this clan. Chaotic, terrible places. One of the most striking things when I came here was Cirrus. It’s not easy to have an outlook so positive in a world like this one. He genuinely cares about everyone in this clan. Everything he does is for this clan. He gives all that he has. To be completely honest, that’s what worries me most. When he gives this much of himself, I’m afraid he has nothing left. He stretches himself thin, taking care of everyone else. Sometimes I see him look at me, or anyone else in the clan, with this honest caring and concern, and I know that he can dish it out as much as he likes but he can’t take it. He crumbles under the softest touch or word. Cirrus thinks so little of himself that he can’t imagine someone else finding him brilliant or wonderful. Strangely enough, however, that’s exactly what the clan thinks of him. He isn’t aggressive, but he isn’t a pushover, either. Cirrus is the best leader this clan could ever have… I just wish he could see that, too.
