The general consensus seems to be that Ashen has rather... too much energy. He is snarky, quick-witted and, at times, completely irreverent - the Clan's most acute truth/emotion sense didn't come bundled with tact - and since it's a given he is going to wander off and talk to complete strangers at the drop of a hat anyway, they figure they might as well point it in more or less the right direction and pray nothing crashes and burns.

Admittedly, so far nothing did. (Yet.)

It has to be said that since Martyr stepped in and became a permanent fixture/something of a self-appointed bodyguard, Clan Silverfish is certainly breathing a little easier about the future of their foreign relations. They know he can be counted on to snark back and judge when it's time to step on Ashen's tail before he snaps and says something... unfortunate with unfailing accuracy.

Although it's more of a hobby, Ashen is one of Clan Silverfish's more talented artificers. His living space is always cluttered with bits and pieces of abandoned projects collecting dust.
Nobody really trusts him to finish anything without supervision, but other dragons will often call on him for advice.

For a while everyone expected him and Glamour to become a pair, but in the end nothing came out of it.
