Biography

Uh-oh, looks like this fiery Pearlcatcher wandered a little too far from his lair (134150, Whitefoxtails), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the urge to exalt him, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here.
I travel with 439.png Janustrap

Aodh was really only planning to see what lay beyond the Southern Icefield, honestly! But somehow he got a little lost, and he doesn't really want to go home. He never felt like he quite fit in, anyway. All the other hatchlings there always laughed, told him that the Icewarden wouldn't want a brightly-colored dragon like him. He hopes to find a lair where he'll be welcome, just for a while. He doesn't need to stay long...

The next stretch of journey found Aodh in a place like that of which he had never known before! Whereas his previous cave had been icy and cold, this new underwater reef was warm and welcoming. Instead of ice there were fun water slides, fish and an entire lair of friendly dragons. It was a fine stay in the tropics for the once ice loving dragon and it was refreshing to see the flip-side of what he had known all of his life. However, even with the coconut drinks with little umbrellas and the warm rays of sun on his scales, the dragon knew that there were bigger, better things out there in the world. So, with his head held high and his mind open, he decided to venture into the unknown once more!

When he stopped next. he found himself near some small breezy lairs. Songmoon was the first to find him and led him to her home. They spent many lovely evenings together which turned into two lovely little hatchlings. Aodh loved his two hatchlings but was quickly growing restless again. Saying goodbye to the three pearl catchers, Aodh had to leave all of them behind. He had gotten a taste for traveling and it hadn't been satisfied yet.

Clan Huldra, where he arrived next, was crowded and full of soot. A nearby lava vent had burst open, and toxic gas was flooding half the Bazaar. Fearing he might have caught some deadly disease, Aodh felt a sudden urge to go home and visit his parents before he or them were gone forever.

After a treacherous journey, Aodh arrived safely back in the Southern Icefield. Somehow, it felt good to be home. Travelling is all well and good, he thought, but sometimes it's good to go home for a while. After being home for a few days, he realized that many of the hatchlings he grew up with were gone. Some had travelled to other lairs, his parents told him. Some had devoted themselves to the Icewarden's service. Despite the lack of teasing, Aodh still felt like he didn't quite fit in. This unhappiness drove him to keep travelling, and the story continues...

Aodh found himself back in the Ashfall Wastes. This time, he crashed with a smaller clan. The young pearlcatcher was astonished to find other ice dragons happily living in the heat of the lava pools. Ianthe had lived In the Fire domain since she was a hatchling and the clan was little more than a handful of dragons. The female imperial happily showed Aodh around her home. Though he learned to enjoy the sights and made new friends, Aodh still yearned to see new places. He left with warm farewells and a parting gift.

Aodh's visit to the Cloudsong was a calm and peaceful one. He spent his days on a high terrace watching kites and balloons fluttering over the hillside gardens. These dragons had originally been a Nature clan, and Aodh often found himself in the company of large sentient flowers that would slither out to bask in the sun. Sometimes he was joined by other dragons eager to hear of his travels, and shared berries and fresh greens from the midsummer crops. Eventually, however, he grew restless and a little bored, and decided it was time to move on yet again.

Aodh's next stop was startlingly different from the Cloudsong. In place of fresh grass and beautiful flowers, there was barren land and the skeletal remains for dragons long since dead. He has gotten lost in the Abiding Boneyard. Aodh wandered for days before he stumbled upon a gathering party lead by the clan's heir, Laufey. The group took him back to their clan where he was allowed to rest for a few days. Unfortunately, the rotting Plague lands just weren't for him and he was off in no time.

However, Aodh was due to becoming stuck in the Wandering Contagion. The fumes that Loomed over the rotting flesh and tree life, was storming his nostrils, making his stomach churn. Everywhere he looked was the same nasty dead contagion. He couldn't fly for his stomach was sick, and he couldn't see from the red fog but every time he stepped would emerge from the ground.
He looked into the distance, except for this time it was a little different. Far away, in between some brambles of dead branches that were sticking up all ragged, was a tree. The tree was very lush full of tangerines and oranges. Aodh thought to himself, in the wandering contagion that something like that shouldn't exist. But this tree was his salvation, the only thing living at all in the wandering contagion.
Aodh ran, jumping through all the bushes and rubble that was in front of him to get to it. Before the tree, he lunged breaking through another bunch of trees and falling at the trees feet. Feet? He looked up and saw a tree full of tangerines however, this tree had wings and a face, claws, and a long tail like his. The tree was a dragon. A pearl catcher to be exact.
She sat there looking off into the distance almost as if she didn't notice him. Aodh looked in he same direction, seeing two Nocturn's, one red and one yellow, playing with a large pearl.
" You're new to the contagion aren't you." She spoke still watching the hatchlings. Her voice was very wise, as if she's been living for a very long time too long in fact.
" How did you know?" said Aodh as he tried to sit up.
" Son I have been here very long time and I know when somebody stirs up that much gas from the wandering contagion, that they don't know what they're doing."
Aodh stared at her confused.
She sighed, " All that red gas you were kicking up when you were walking through here, the Stuff that probally made you sick, that is the left overs of the decaying things. It's the lands ability to protect itself." she still didn't look away from the hatchlings. But he could sense that she was still watching him from the corner of her eye.
" a And if you're wondering what I'm doing here, I'm here to teach the newborns about the deadly contagion. And Figuring that you saw me andmade all that commotion, you thought that you were on the boarder of the nature territory. I'm sorry to tell you son, but nature territory is that way and you got a whole river to cross before you get to there." she pointed to her left with a claw.
Aodh just stared at her. She was giving him a lot of information at a little bit too fast to handle. So he just sat there on his haunches staring at her.
It was quiet, the only sound they heard were the two hatchlings squealing at each other as each other rolled over the Pearl.
She never looked at Aodh. At least not directly. She was more concerned about the hatchlings as if something would happen to them. Aodh thought to himself, is there something more dangerous out here then what's lead on to be.
"Are those hatchling yours? You're watching them very intently."
This made her look at him, she Blushed very lightly.
" oh no no no no no... I.. My job is to watch the hatchlings after they are born and teach them all the ways of our clan. And plus I am way too old Deary to have children, I mean with any mates and make very desirable hatchlings."
Aodh smiled. She was flustered.
" well I believe that you'll beautiful and you would make amazing children."
She blushed a bit brighter.
"All right deary you're sweet but really I can't, instead how about we get your cuts all cleared up."
"Cuts?" Aodh looked at him self and realized that he was covered in tiny cuts turning his orange coat into more of a blood orange.
"Oh..... Yeah let's do that."
After returning to the dragons clan, Aodh would learn that the dragons name was Rarity(#716711). Rarity was the eldest member of the clan and the third to join. Rarity would teach him the ways of the contagion and many other things with his long stay at Yukidoerr's clan (37423). Like how to increase his bond with his familiar, heal small injuries, and maps. But yet again Aodh needed to continue on. So with his familiar, some supplies, and hugs from Rarity and the new born hatchlings Aodh was on his way into the vast Plauge region. Aodh is always welcome to return.

Arriving to the Lesser Lair of the Steppes, Aodh, who was very tired from this flight because the wind of the place was making it harder to fly and so deciding to rest of a while he found a warm cave fully made of bamboos and he flew in to the cave not realising it was a home of a clan. he was happy to discover that there was a clan in this cave and he with that he asked the alpha dragon Sapphire if he could stay for a while and Sapphire nodded letting him stay for a while. He was glad to stay to rest in a windy but peaceful place and on top of that he got some helpful tips and training lessons on how to fly with the wind and against the wind from the beta dragon Pippen without using too much energy. Then when he was fully trained to battle the winds of the place he helped the clan with there chores and told his story's to a young traveller called Sun who just began her travels making her soo excited that she threw her pearl almost hitting Sapphire and for a result....everyone laughed except for Sun who harshly blushed embarrassed. when Aodh noticed that every thing in the clan calmed down he noticed that he has been in the clan for ages and decided to go the next day so with that he packed up his things and said his good byes and thanked pippin who helped him to fly better in strong winds and said good luck to Sun with her own travels and told alpha that he be going the next day. when the next day before he flew off to continue his journey, sapphire got his attention said "thanks for visiting my cave, all of us wish you luck on your travels. we all, enjoyed your visit, and hope you will visit again. and please take care and mind herself. ok?" and with that Aodh nodded and parted and flew with the wing into the sun rise.

Blanksand Annex, it seemed like an interesting place for his next stop. Little did he know that interesting wasn't close to the word for it. Individual dwellings were carved into stone walls of the lair. Dead center in the heart of it huge metal water ranks stood. Sea water was being converted into drinkable water. The molten lava was turning the water into vapor and then back into water again. Around these tanks some of the clan's guards protected their supply from any that might try and steal it. There had been attempts, but so far they had all failed. "Hmm what do we have here?" A solid black female wildclaw approached gently running a sharp claw along his shoulder, "A visitor, and it seems you are stronger than most of our visiting travelers" Behind her one of the males called out "Leave the poor guy alone Azra" to this she shook her head and looked to Aodh once more "Don't worry" she grinned, exposing her carnivorous teeth as the end of her tail brushed along the underside of his chin. "Your aren't my type anyways. The clan leader and her, mate are away tending to a nest, but stay for as long as you like" This Azra was as settling as motion sickness and he had no intention of staying for very long.
