"It will have to wait. I've a clan full of strays that I need to account for so that we don't lose track of who is going where and how much our provisions are being used. Not to mention there are clans and creatures willing to wage wars outside of our quaint little island, so while you daydream and doze, perhaps think of finding me some new teas to try while I get all of this sorted.
No, I wasn't asked if this job was the one I wanted, but I know very well I'm one of the only persons willing to do it, and do it right. I suppose knowing I have full access to Moreas in it's entirety is a rather nice option to have as I uphold these tasks though. I have little reason to complain as long as no one lets anyone into my library again -- The last in here was a spiral so intent on decorating my office with every file they could find that it took me weeks to reorganize. So pardon if I'm not exactly thrilled in keeping any company."
Xavier came to Moreas only after he heard of the intriguing advancements of the volcano to keep it active and to properly house a large clan. Astounded that such technology had been used and yet no one had been keeping the members of the clan in line, he took it upon himself to develop a system of information to keep on members to make it easy to identify and locate any one individual, and to be sure that no one dragon would take too much from the clan's materials and provisions.
Having a good heart, he does most of this out of necessity. He can see the issues that would arise very quickly the moment any bickering would occur, and while Malleus and his own keep things in excellent check for the most part, Xavier sees no reason to put responsibility squarely on the clan's leader.
Harsh, stuffy, but fair and logical, Xavier is the one to turn to if anyone in the clan needs answers for the most part. If he doesn't know something, it's likely he'll know someone who does.
