━ History ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ At last, they had found a place for their home. Encouraging Alceme to rest a moment, he went to work immediately finding trinkets, leaves, and branches to make their new place a home. Humming a childhood tune as he went, Belanoir let his mate rest, knowing their journey had made her far more exhausted than him. As for himself, he found it was hard to stay still. Envisioning everything their clan would become, he could hardly wait to truly make this place a home, for every generation to come. And the hatchlings they'd have! How cute they'd be! As he put the finishing touches on the space they'd claimed, he lay down next to Alceme, giving her a loving nudge. Together, they grew the clan, inviting dragons as they came and went. They had a daughter, Lavender, whom Belanoir adored, spending most of his time playing and teaching her things. He was very protective of her, especially as their other children had unfortunately not survived, so Belanoir would not let the young Guardian out of his sight. Unfortunately, she had inherited his disposition for getting ill and got dangerously ill. Despite their hardest efforts, Alceme and Belnoir found no cure, until one night, as the Shadowbinder appeared in his dreams. She promised Lavenders' safety on the condition that he leave the clan to serve her indefinitely. After a tearful goodbye, he left the clan behind. For many, many years, he faithfully served and worked for the Shadowbinder. Not a day passed where he did not think of his lover, nor his child, and he languished knowing she would grow up without him. Nevertheless, he worked tirelessly and with enthusiasm, thankful for the Shadowmother's help. It came to his great surprise and joy when he was called to her side, and told he was allowed to return once again to his clan and family. Belanoir thanked her with all his heart, promising to make her proud, and wasted no time packing his things, and making for their territory. |
