Alexandria was not always a leader. First, she was scared and very alone; she was abandoned as a hatchling. She wandered for weeks after she hatched, scrounging up the little food she could and running again and again from the numerous foes who saw her as an easy target. It was a travelling nurse-mage who saved her; a gentle female fire-aligned Imperial took her in, flying with Alexandria back to her modest home in the Ashfall Waste and raising her as her own. For much of her life, Alexandria was raised as a fire dragon, and she is very fond of the element to this day because of it.

She, of course, eventually grew up, and with adulthood came the decision that she must leave her adoptive mother and return to her true home and birthplace in the Tangled Wood. It was shortly after her return to the Shadowbinder's territory that she met Thor, a handsome and quick-witted Mirror. He soon became her mate, and later the father to her first hatchlings. The two settled down together, building themselves and their children a small den in the Driftwood Drag. It wasn’t until many years later, when their children had left home to start their own families, that they decided to invite other Shadow dragons into their quickly-expanding home, and thus the clan you see today was born!
