Biography

Witch doctor to the Lethal Legacy Clan, Gatekeeper is an odd fae that is well known for the strange concoctions he produces to meet the clan’s medical needs. The small dragon is not well-versed in the more modern practices of dragon doctors in Sornieth, yet his old remedies and near-forgotten magics are tried and true. Gatekeeper will not tell any other dragon where he learned his trade or how he gained knowledge of so many long forgotten medical practices though no one is quite sure why he refuses to share the information. It is plain however that he does not practice more modern medicine because he believes that a true plague clan should be able to survive with the land as disease spreads through it, not get by with the fancier medicines available to other, weaker clans.

Gatekeeper spends most of his time in his small sap-home in his clan’s Rotrock lair mashing poultices and grinding herbs to make the ingredients for his potions. While he works, the purple fae often flits about his worktable chanting old Draconic phrases and whispering things that the other dragons of his clan cannot understand. Most of the ingredients he uses come from hard to find plants and animals that come from all over Sornieth, yet since he cannot travel long distances due to his small size, another dragon collects these ingredients for him. Many of the clan members have tried to figure out who Gatekeeper’s forager is, but no one has come forward.

It is these strange mannerisms that give cause for many of the dragons within the clan to share the opinion that Gatekeeper is odd and even a bit creepy. They like him though and appreciate his work, and the strange fae does not seem to notice the odd sideways glances his fellow clan members tend to direct at him. The problem with the clan’s opinions about Gatekeeper is that they do not allow for many of the dragons to get to know him. Most only visit when they require his services and even then do not speak much. Few know much more about the bright fae than his position and few have bothered to learn so much as his age or favorite color.
