Biography

Mithralsoul had found his charge.

He'd come from a broken clan. Not long from his hatchday he remembered that one of the crystaline spires had lost it's arcane charge, and collapsed. When it fell it crushed the clan leader, and additionally the charge of several Guardian Dragons in his clan.

That memory stayed with him all the way to adulthood, and it was accompanied by memories of his clan caring for the broken dragons who'd chosen the leader as their charge. They had trouble eating, sleeping, hunting, hoarding, and even contributing to the battles. When they neared the end of their lifespan they resigned to serve The Arcanist in his glory, yet spoke of it as "even a failure can protect scrolls". Those words stuck with him, and it reminded him that those Guardians had been so broken by the death of their charge that it soured all else.

He'd grown to fear his search, and left the clan to avoid it.

He didn't want to find himself in a depressed state over the eventual death of someone he'd sought to protect, or the destruction of something he desired to keep safe. He was determined to avoid even finding what that thing was, and tired after another day of wandering he sought shade under a massive manatree.

Before he could get underneath it's shade a Fae Dragon burst from the leaves to question him. Despite her hostilities he felt something deep in his brain, and deeper in his heart. As gear turning generates an electric signal to light a flame, for seeing her made his mind click together and his heart beat slow.

Every second running away from certain disaster sent him to what he needed most. He could prevent any harm coming from this brave soul, and he could keep her close to him. This was why the other Guardians were devoted in their search, and to their charge. It was because that made them tick, and it made them feel more strongly than ever before.

Not one for words Mithralsoul spoke solemnly while his scales shined from the pumping blood beneath them.

The nervous dragon blushed in front of his new charge, and someday mate.
