The hour of her escape had come! Ruffin took a final look at her clan mates. They served the clan well, but she wanted more than peacful service. It wasn't the place for her. She padded to the entrance with tears brewing at the corner of her eyes. The knowledge that she may never see them again stung her to the depths of consciousness. Outside the cave she found her closest friend waiting. The young Guardian held the brave face of a warrior while seeing her dear friend off. There was something on her mind, " Ruffin, before you go... will you answer me one question? Why? " Ruffin looked guiltilly at her own feet, " I'm just not right here. There's no place for an ambitious adventurer. This life is not mine and I'm tired of conforming. " She surrendered herself to the vastness in Gyrda's eyes, but her voice held a firm tone " My offer stands: come with me. " Gyrda tilted her head helplessly and she stepped around her friend. " It's as you wanted. The world is yours, Ruffin. My best wishes to you. " These were not the words Ruffin had hoped for, but they were no suprise. " So long, Gyrda. Thank you for serving as my lifeline for so long. " It was this way that Ruffin exited the clan. She could have left whether the others knew or not, but she wished not to see their pained faces. It was an end as well as a beginning. No turning back.
