 The “Scavs” (or Scav Clan) are a hodge-podge assemblage of dragons from a variety of backgrounds who have found themselves, some way or another, in the unforgiving barrens of the Scarred Wastes. Less of an established community and more of an ever-changing medley of residents and visitors, no Scavs are entirely sure how the cluster of dragons truly formed. No lore or stories have been passed from early dragons besides bits of conjecture about past residents. It is understood that the name of “Scavs” came naturally from the clan being born of a collective of wasteland scavengers, but further details have been lost to time and tragedy. Heirarchy exists, but it is largely arbitrary and constantly morphing as dragons come and go. Cliques and friendships rapidly form and dissolve within the clan, and dragons naturally fall into their roles without needing formal assignment or discussion. Margueritte is the only dragon that can be said to have a concrete role and hierarchical position in the clan, as most of the members believe her magics to be the deciding factor between life and death in the cruel Wastes. Though she would never officially claim a leadership role, she is looked up to as an unofficial matriarch and wields the most power simply due to the reverence of her clan mates. Those that question her role in the survival of the clan would not dare speak up, regardless - even if it were true that she did not magically protect the clan from danger, she certainly has the means to be the deciding factor between life and death for an individual insurgent. Scav Clan functions through what can only be called organized chaos. Members come and go, bonds form and break, status quos manifest then die. Somehow, the members still manage to have everything they need. Perhaps the experiences of the unforgiving Wastes push the members to remain communal and step up when something needs to be done, or perhaps the Plaguebringer bestows them with fortune, or perhaps they are simply on a lucky streak that will one day fall apart when the chaos becomes too much. As the clan grows, the tight-knit feeling of an intimate community falls away. A small group that inevitably knew everything about everyone has, with such swiftness it wasn’t realized, reached a point where one clan member can hardly know anothers’ name. With just as much swiftness, the melange could drop back to a handful of residents or even double in size, but the future of the Scavs is unknown even to them.
