    Epesi is Ćarthaigh's leader, his apparel to show his rank worn with pride. He may be the smallest species of dragon in the clan, but he and his lifemate Ayla keep the clan in perfect order. They have the final say of what happens in all sections of the clan. Epesi is humble, witty and calm.

    In his youth he was highly suspicious of outsiders, and was frequently bullied for his small stature. Commanding respect wasn't something he felt he was ever capable of doing, until he saw the desperate need for a piece of the Gladekeeper's blessing to be protected. With Ayla's love and patience, he learned to readily accept dragons for who they are, rather than as a threatening species or occupation; whether it's a garden keeper, a shaman, or even a pit fighter. Outsiders are still warned against making any threats towards the clan's safety, with the threat of branding the hostile dragons' flanks as a deterrent. Epesi's control has led to continuous decades of peace within his territory. A safe-haven for all those loyal.

    Epesi became mated with Ayla, having met her roaming the forest edge when she was caring for orphaned faes on her own. He took her and the faes in, and she became his loyal lifemate, and the matriarch of the clan.
