Biography

The clan matriarch, Delphinia reigns over this clan. Once a small Fae, Delphinia transformed into a Pearlcatcher after an encounter with the Gladekeeper. Because she was once a Fae dragon, Delphinia often has difficulty communicating with other dragons. She can understand Fae dragons, but cannot communicate back as clearly due to the loss of her crest. She also struggles to communicate with other dragon species, especially other Pearlcatchers, who are disturbed by her monotone inflections. The difficulties in communication caused a rift between Delphinia and her original mate, Orion. She is uncertain if she will find another dragon who will make a suitable clan patriarch, but is capable of managing the clan on her own.
She occasionally assists in the training of young dragons, but prefers fighting back the beatsclans that dare encroach on her territory in a team with Lorelei and Lacaille, where she provides magical assistance.
During the Night of the Nocturne (2015), Delphinia found a young nocturne who she raised as her own. This nocturne, Marina, grew up mimicking Delphinia's expressions and mannerisms, allowing her to communicate easily with the fae-turned-pearlcatcher. Despite her joy at being able to communicate easily with another dragon at long last, Delphinia worried that Marina would never learn to communicate with other dragons. Trying to spare her from the same loneliness that she suffered, Delphinia gave Marina to Mara and Sahel to raise. Delphinia's fears turned out to be unfounded and Marina was easily able to communicate with every dragon she came across. Marina became an apprentice to Blight, but always makes time to visit her mother.
After raising Marina, Delphinia's desire for a family was reawakened. She started to grow closer with her personal guard, Acheron. Their relationship grew from one of trust to confidence to love and they have now raised a few nests of their own. Delphinia has still not chosen a patriarch however.
